A lot. A good amount of people also watch streams of TES, Zelda, and other single player games.

Uhhh... I'd rather just play, thanks.

the only reason why people would want to watch this if they didn't buy d3 themselves and are unsure if they want to buy it.

Well I'll definitely be tuning in to the group trying to do HC world firsts. I'm not sure what this guy plans to be doing with his stream but you guys should remember that a lot of people do like to watch other people play video games. The numbers are probably similar to the number of hardcore players.

The debate he had with Athene is awesome, lol. Athene wants to get the secret out of him haha. I'm definitely gonna see who clears inferno first

Thanks. I'll be sure to direct people to this post if for some reason they think they have another reason to want to watch it.

Dual monitors FTW! I'll be supporting my friend Octav on one, while playing d3 on the other!

Yeah, unlike SC2, D3 is not a game where streaming is very meaningful imo, 1000x more fun to play it yourself.
|
It very much depends on the personality I guess. MANY people have watched day9 playing skyrim and such too. As long as the player can entertain the crowd
I'll be playing myself for sure tho.

what's the point? is there more content than the open beta weekend or is it the same 1-2 hour of gameplay?

There are so many judgemental people in this thread jesus. Did anyone who is saying "what is the point of watching when I can play it" stop to think that he's awesome when he streams? If not just skill wise him and his friend krippi are very funny. I will be tuning in on my second monitor while I play not just to support him, but to enjoy his commentary and his insight into the game. People can stream more than just eSports... Get off your high horse if you think otherwise.

I watched a little bit last night and you are right that they are both quite the characters. I too will probably have it on a secondary monitor just to see their progress. One thing that I don't like though is their overuse of "bro" so I might just have it muted. Hah!

Haha yeah their use of "bro" is quite ridiculous sometimes.

He doesn't really even seem that well prepared. Athene asked him if the damage buff from frost nova stacks for 2x wizards, and he didn't know.
Thats ridiculously easy to test, just get two identical monsters, nova 1 4 times and nova 1 once and then frost beam both with identical wizards and time them, compare times.
That seems like a really obvious thing to want to know, and they didn't know it.

Frost nova doesn't inherently increase damage done to its targets; it's a rune (and a passive) that cause that debuff, neither of which were available in the beta. So I'm not sure how he would go about testing that, apart from simple guesswork.

Most single player games (at least for Zelda/Mario) are speedruns. It is way different watching a speedrun of OoT compared to watching someone run through it normally.
