I am continually impressed by ROOT. They know how to pull in good players and also know how to market themselves. I'm not surprised by this at all. I saw this comming the day they put "Destiny" on their roster. Destiny isn't the greatest SC2 player, and is probably the weakest (skill wise) of all ROOT players... But whenever his stream is up, there are at least 2k people tuning in. Sponsors love to see that... If I were to advertise with a progaming team, it would be ROOT as well.

More like 4k

. I tune into his stream quite often just to hear them talk. It's hilarious at times. Usually there are 4k people tuned in. I think he hit 7k when he was doing his queen tactics. Destiny can bring in the masses quite easily. Catz gets a pretty damn good amount of people too. So do Minigun and Drewbie. Hell, they all get a lot of stream viewers

Destiny is fairly skilled and he is grown into a great player. People tend underestimate him, he is pretty creative player with a good macro

Was wondering, how come ROOTKitty is not on the list?

pretty expected IMO, ROOTEdward and ROOTSundevil both are employees of IGN and are organizing the IPL and Justin.tv has had deals with ROOT for awhile. Pokerstars is pretty awesome maybe they will throw up as much money as Pokerstrategy did for the TSL

Destiny is getting better by the day and has ROOT (and his own dedication, of course) to thank for that. I anticipate he'll play a lot better once he hits the scene in person and becomes more experienced. It's rough going up against players who are just calm and collected and have no nerves when playing when it matters.

I want to point out that I have a ton of respect for the ROOT guys and there's no way they're in any way responsible for their sponsor's business or it's conformance to U.S. laws. However, it will certainly be an annoying blow to have one of their sponsors shut down.

Yeah poker stars sponsored a lot of things. Wonder what the out come will be.

Also may effect TL, poker strategy relies heavily on online poker tables.
