^ Dude, he's one of the favorites of the tourny, he's terran and he lost to zerg on steppes of war despite the opening being 14 hatch vs. double rax. He deliberately says nothing about Idra's play in the interview, good or bad. You're being too sensitive. Also... you can't always win.

That being said, i'm sure it would burn anyone to hear his victor regretting his poor showing. :/

lol even if hes' one of the favorites he totally made it sound like Idra was terrible and he should never have lost to him lolol.

Whatever hope MVP makes it far though he's always been one of my favorite terrans as his tvz is amazing!

Saying his own game was bad automaticlly makes IdrA worse. It's simple math, A>B, A<1 means B is even less.

I'm not that angry really but I think IdrA played good, some stressed reactions though (spinecrawler moving, to many drones on Meta).
It seems to be a trend with foreigners to not expect koreans to just try and kill their opponents the first 10 minutes.
Seriously how many games are above 30 minutes in the GSL?

No I'm seriously asking; Anyone know? I'd love to watch em, craving some long games here after huge loads of terran-timing pushes and all in's. GSL 2 finals were great but still to many all in's imo.
Jinro's games were great though, that man was epic solid.

Lol @ your math fail.

With those two inequalities, you could put A at 1000000 and B at 999999. That doesnt imply that your opponent is bad, mathematically.

The A > B part is derived from the fact that he won the series, but saying that he had a poor showing is akin to saying 2 > A, which would yield 2 > B.

Unless of course having a low number is better.

xD Just felt the need to geek out there. Much love and whatnot.

You do realise he said he played poorly, right? Meaning you are wrong, cause if he said "Awww djyeeeaaah I was epic rippin' in those game! Man I was ACE!" then yeah, there would be space to say that IdrA was not indirectly bad. But he said he played poorly, thus there isn't any hypothetical space to say IdrA was nothing but worse.

Also where is my math "fail" here, it's a retardingly simple equation that is true, there's nothing wrong in it and what you wrote does not disprove anything that I said. Did however put the "<" in reverse, fixed that.

But much love and whatnot.

He went double rax vs hatch first on Steppes of War

...and lost

Had he done more damage with the initial push or with the hellion harass, it would've been a much longer game. But he didn't do enough damage with the initial push, and lost several hellions needlessly with barely any economic damage.

At his level, those are BIG mistakes. Hence he said he played poorly.

Polt won, this is very good news for Jinro as SlayerSBoxer's TvT was actually quite good ^^

So is Polt's, apparently.

Maybe it was a fluke? I guess we'll find out soon enough...Jinro fighting! First foreigner in the Ro8, gogogo.

And if Jinro loses, I'm holding out for an all-protoss Ro4. ^.^

I'm going to go with this and give him the benefit of the doubt, but I was a little annoyed with him while reading his interview. It just seemed like such a passive-aggressive way to bash his opponent.

Man I'm not sure Jinro can take the early aggression of the Koreans...that seems to be their nr1 trick. And so far very effective versus foreigners. If he can just survive the first 10 minutes I think he had 60%+ chance to win.
But them rushes man, "What is thy name, build? Legion... for we are marines."

What happened to the trash talking that American athletes are so proud of? I guess when iNcontrol did it, it was all for "the fun and entertainment" of the crowd whereas somebody else being critical of his own gameplay it becomes passive-aggressive bashing of the opponent.

I'm just saying that's how it came across to me, but I even said I would give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that's now how he meant it. Maybe it's even just the translation or some obscure aspect of Korean culture that I have no experience with.

And I don't have a problem with trash talking in, say, American Football or the UFC. But it seems out of place in Starcraft (at least to me).

Just my opinion, please don't feel like I'm pushing it on you.

Trash talking is badass. Passive-agressive comments are for sissies. There is nothing passive-agressive about iNcontrol lol.

That said, I give IMmvp the benefit of the doubt though. He probably didn't know that Idra was actually well prepared for the 2-rax rush so he was disappointed when it didn't do damage like it did for all the other cheesy terrans in this GSL.

Seriously how can some of you actually find mvp BM from that interview? The fact is he did play poorly even though he still managed to win, I think most people can agree with that. Then again what he said was nothing new, it was what pretty much all players said in BW about their matches and considering how GM everyone there usually is I can't see mvp meaning anything bad about his comment.

So after Jinro explained Fomos misinterpreted what he said, I made a couple posts on playxp to explaining the situation and here are some of the Korean's comments

http://www.playxp.com/sc2/bbs/view.php?article_id=2397978

splicer = Jinro saying 'Omg TT' is really touching TT
whitesinnoung = Huhuh the meaning changes so dramatically
엄친아사촌형SARS = what kind of a reporter translates 'AND' like that?
너는펫 = translator king fomos~

http://www.playxp.com/sc2/bbs/view.php?article_id=2398520

BarneyStinson = Jinro so cute
짬뽕이다 = Aw I really like Jinro~
버터플라이제니스 = lololololol Jinro is so cute

Comments from the original interview

장겸손 = Jinro played so well
ㅁㄴㅇ = Jonathan might be in danger since the emperor's TvT is so gosu. I want him to get Code S, but if BoxeR advances... lol
3535 = I want him to get Code S Jinro fighting!!
SLEEPING = what does he mean, close to being true? lololol so only oGsMC thinks they're friends? lol
forgoodfeeling = wow Jonathan... he seems like a really fun and interesting player
ㅇㅋ = I saw him play for the first time, he's really interesting. JINRO FIGHTING!!
ss = Cham Ee Seul Fighting~!!
ㅁㄴㅇㅇ = wow he disses him in the interview~ he says he only gets nervous if the opponent is good -ㄷ-
으잌ㅋㅋㅋ = there is a mistranslation in the interview

so everything is all swell it seems
