They pointed out that Select and huk lost in qualifiers, but I don't know if that's fair since tester also lost in qualifiers and they've idolized him as one of the top protoss forever. HuK, KiWiKaKi, and iNcontroL lost in the finals of the notoriously random qualifiers, all after less than a week in a foreign country. Tester, NaDa, InCa, and TOP all lost in the qualifiers as well. Nearly every top European player except for Ret and Jinro hasn't competed in Korea. NonY hasn't played the GSL and would be extremely likely to qualify if he did. Drewbie, qxc, Machine, TTOne and Pain.User would all have a shot at qualifying as well. If the top 30 foreign players tried to qualify, I would probably expect about 8-10 to make it. But of course, Ret is going to win this GSL, so that'll go far towards improving the image of foreigners.

Don't forget the likes of white-ra, dimaga, demuslim, brat_ok, morrow, sjow, socke and a whole slew of other european players. If US + Euro combined invaded GSL, I think we would see a lot of "foreigners" in GSL because the quality of some players in the top 64 is still pretty low (the all-in terrans mostly...) Edit: ah, I misread you're post a little bit. Nevermind. Will still leave my post unedited though.

I doubt that's what he meant though but I wonder how the koreans will understand it.

Exactly this - qualifiers are extremely luck-based, the bigger the number of foreigners gets, the higher the chances that more make it trough. Actually quite simple logic. No offense to Jinro, Ret or Haypro, but with bad luck they could've been defeated while HuK, Select or Kiwikaki could've made it trough. Many players from NA/Europe are capable of qualifying, but since only few get the chance to actually try it's inevitable that not many make it. WhiteRa, Dimaga, qxc, drewbie, Slush, Socke, Cloud, Tarson, Demuslim, Strelok...they all have definitely the skill to get into Ro64 the very least. I'm so happy that Ret made it. Not only because he won, but HOW he won....not due to blunders of his opponent, not with stupid builds, but solid, dominant play. Awsome. Now I hope Jinro can do the same tomorrow.

DeMuslim, Dimaga and WhiteRa are good. But are they better than Kiwi, Huk, Ret, TLO, Jinro, Sen, Loner, Luffy etc.? I am not quite sure. Although I agree that if all of them participated, more of them would have qualified for ro64. Just not sure if they would have advanced far.

Q. Do you think zerg is favored in the ZvT balance? A. Zerg is definitely favored. If the zerg decides to go mutalisk, zergling, the terran is limited to a small number of options and the game becomes impossible to lose once the zerg has enough banelings on creep. Lol A few weeks ago it would've been different haha.

After seeing that he was going mech, I thought I could win if I made some broodlords. I lost more broodlords than I expected and thought that terran mech was bullshit. This is awesome, made me choke on my coffee
