The Genius Terran Nada (oGs) fails to advance past GSL Season 3 Offline preliminary round.
Nada faced Zenex on preliminary round of GSL #3 on November 15th. Nada failed to advance to main rounds of GSL season 3, even though he got to round of 8 in GSL season 2, acquiring his Code S.
Nada, while he won the 1st set, he lost 2nd and 3rd set in a row, allowing Zenex to come back from behind. Zenex is a Terran player who advanced to main rounds in GSL season 1.
It will not be possible to see Nada(oGs) on GSL season 3's main rounds. However, since Nada acquired Code S for himself in GSL #2, he will be eligible to participate in upcoming 2011 GSL Code-S League.
|
Isn't Zenex the team name? Or am I totally off here...
|
sad news :-( is there a place to check all of the qualifier results?
Would someone mind explaining to me what Code-S is? I have seen a few speculations around the forums, but no one seems to definitively know what it means...
thank you in advance!
|
I cant believe we wont see Nada in GSL 3. Thats dissapointing
|
First Tester and now Nada? Oh my
|
He pulled a Tester -.-'
This blows.
Any idea what the strategies/ builds he lost to were?
|
This is....disappointing. I loved the way NaDa played, very interesting TvZ, so macro based.
|
He lost to ZenexJSL if I read correctly.

suggest change thread name to avoid spoil?
edit: also very sad for an excellent s-class legend
edit again: whoops, i am a dumbass. ;-; said that out of habit after seeing so many bw spoilers in thread titles

It sucks that NaDa didn't qualify because it would have made GSL 3 more fun to watch. I personally think NaDa got lucky last season since he had an easier bracket.
|
*sob weep sob* sniff! Just cant express how sad I am... Why make GSL3 paler for me, Nada?
|
unfortunate but that can happen in these perlims play a good player or have a bad day and your out. seems like they are pretty much monthly so next time. more training

Avoid spoil for a game that no one can watch? Why would someone want to not know this til later?
|
Can someone tell me how exactly how these qualifiers work? By "set" do you mean a set of three games? Do they face multiple people in the qualifiers? Is it bracket form?
|
That defiantly sucks, I was looking forward to more Nada games in GSL3 .
|
I think GOM shud have made a rule in qualies sayin that if an S-class player loses a BO 3 it goes to an extended series of BO 7. The least they can do to save upsets like this and Testers...

Code-S is basically an achievement that earns you guaranteed seeding in the GSL tournaments after this one. afaik you will automatically be in the Ro64 and not have to attend qualifiers once you place high enough to attain Code-S

I fail to see how this is a spoiler when there is going to be zero video content to spoil.

The top 8 players from the 3 GSLs all receive code s. Code S means they are automatically guaranteed a spot in the next GSL league. Code S will have a total of 32 players so that means at least 8 more will get code s, because of repeat top 8s. The others who get code s are dependent on their ranks from the previous GSLs like idra getting top 32 and top 16 he has a high chance of receiving his code s. Just from speculation I would assume if idra got at least top 32 he will receive code s as well and almost definitely if he gets another top 16.

YEAH. I didn't like that guy anyway. JSLZenith qualified is much better than Nada qualified imo

so we know for sure that gsl 4 will use seeding and that s class players automatically get a spot?
GSL 3 will be the last gsl to be completely open with no special treatment for s-class players?

it's all good since Nada will be participating with the up and coming GSL ultimate due to being an S-class playah.. well I don't know what they call the biggest GSL so I'm just calling it

Lol, no point to spoiler censor the thread since there will be no vod to watch.
Sad news though. This is a greater upset than Tester's fall, in the sense that Nada is able to attract far more fans than Tester. Has Tester's vods ever broken the 1 million view limit? I don't think so. Nada's vods on the Korean GOM site are around 1 million to 1.5 million views each.

Anyway, concerning Nada, unfortunately that's how SC2 is atm. Anyone can take a series off anyone provided their skills levels are close enough.

If you wish to comment on Nada's form please back up your statements, we don't know how he played today.

I remeber crying when he lost SL in 2007... Nada was who got me and my friends interested in BW back in 2004 when none of us knew about TL. I was SOOO happy when he announced his coming to SC2. If you've never felt something like that I cant explain it. Hence the statement pathetic fanboy comes across as oxymoronic to me atleast when we're talkin about Nada. @Kojinshugi: Yeah, I guess I got a bit too "involved" in it!
|
right now the game is so fucking volatile, even the best players can be caught off guard with a well executed timing push it seems. just glad tester and nada will be around for the future S-class season.
|
Damn that really sucks Maybe he can practice hard with less stress for now. Big picture!
Nada body fighting!
|
Major bummer.
I was looking forward to seeing more of his matches.
|
this is unfortunate. I thought his series against that zerg in the r016? was awesome, really showed his ability to keep up with zerg macro mid-late game and he had nice marine splits and tank pushes. However he still has code S which is what everyone wants anyways.
|
Wow, the fact that it was a TvT makes me REALLY curious what builds his opponent used - because I simply can NOT believe nada would lose 2 straight up TvT macro-battles in a row in prelims. I mean, maybe it was the next foxer, but cmon what are the odds? Maybe there is a new TvT style evolving?
|
Come on this is nada, you know his opponet probably did some kind of proxy rax all-in, and happened to pull it off. That he took 2 games is very unusual, but my guess is it was cheese (prob two diffrent kinds). I dont think many (but some) people can take a long macro game vr nada atm.

DAMNIT, nada had some sexy ass potential here -_-

This saddens me. NaDa was so fun to watch, and always made for cute fangirls in the audience. Oh well... He'll make it next time! Also-- ZeNEX is a team name, so maybe we'll get an update on who he lost to ?
Edit: Looks like he lost to JokeR
|
nah im glad to see JSL advance, he is a strong player and may the best win
|
Quite dissapointed but he just played so badly against BoxeR in the round of 8 last GSL so I'm wondering if he's just hit a wall with his gameplay. But at least he has S Class so you know he's going to practice really insanely hard for the 2011 GSL's. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he didn't win one tournament next year.
|
No NaDa in GSL3? </3
|
Aah it is really disappointing to hear this sad news but I'm sure he will be more stronger and will throw everything out in 2011!

Good. I want to see good players in GSL 3, and not the top hyped ones.

And this is why code-s exists. At GSL all players are good, so if you make a mistake you're out. Seeding the really good players who earned their right by winning is a good idea and will make sure they won't be eliminated in gsl proper.

If you paid the slightest attention you would know that the awesome Tester got knocked out last prelims, ergo he did not gain S class since he didn't even get to RO64! Let us hope he does this time, friend!

It sad to see nada not qualifying but dam, the level of play in the GSL is so high. So many really good player (nada, inca, ensnare, TOP) didn't qualify for GSL3. More upset to go in the second day.

He made Ro8 in GSL1, he has S Class. Maybe you should pay attention.

Shame to see him lose so early. He's still coming along though. I expect him to be really strong in the next GSL once he gets a full understanding of SC2.

No reason to wake up at 4am anymore. :[

NOOO!!!! NaDa!!! ...now who is going to face BoxeR in an epic TvT??!!
|
As I said before, GSL needs dominating players. Not some randoms in every season.

this time around there's a Random. So yeah...

What!? Didn't see this coming, was really expecting him to do well this season. Oh well
|
What is exactly Code S? Is it an award or something? Which role does it play in qualifying for GSL?

Foxer of course.

Does anyone know when the round of 64 of gsl season 3 is suppose to start? I've been trying to find this out for the past hour but I just can't find a timeline/schedual anywhere.
|
Based on the gap between gsl season 1 and season 2 i would expect it will start in about 1 and half weeks. Around November 24th, but I'm just guessing.

Did Zenith and NEX fuse? The name certainly sounds like it.
edit: ok I saw the thread about it

I believe this will happen to many of the old SC pros. There they are, the new young and wild ones. destroying any and every motherfucking thing in their way.
This is the new shit! Yeah!

It sucks a lot of the foreigners are failing
|
qualify matches are imba, they should be tested through fighting 3 different races.

On November 15 2010 16:26 happyness wrote: Can someone tell me how exactly how these qualifiers work? By "set" do you mean a set of three games? Do they face multiple people in the qualifiers? Is it bracket form? They have 2 or 3 days of qualifiers. To qualify, you have to place top4 (semi finals) in a 64 players tournament, played bo3. So they have 16 "mini tourneys", each giving 4 spots to GSL ro64 main event, and each player need to win 4 bo3 to qualify.(ro64->32->16->8->qualified)

I guess im confused about code S now so when a programmer reaches RO8 (i think) they get the code S from this article im guessing that it means you get to play in a "champions" league am i right?

There REALLY needs to be seeding in the GSL. Although I love BW more than SC2, I strongly support the old legends coming back
|
Hmm these who made it/who didn't results seem so random. Either the groups are heavily populated with good players, or the game is just too new for people to stand out completely ahead at this moment.

Ok ok lets disregard the fact that hes the player who held the #1 rank in BW for the longest period of time ever.
He won plenty enough games in pro league before quitting to play SC2, he was offered alot of money to stay do you remember? Something above 180k if i remember correctly. You seem to state it as fact that he left BW because hes washed up, I'm pretty sure he did it because he actually really likes SC2.
And he made it to the RO8, I'm completely baffled that you could state it as fact that he is second rate because theres nothing to suggest that at all.
The way you post I would guess you don't really know who Nada is.

This kind of thing makes me wonder about the qualifying process. It seems quite random honestly

what is happening to the world...i wanna watch NaDa!!!... =(

Meh, Nada is S code so he will be in GSL 2011. As much as I hate to see Nada not make it, the fact of the matter is that there are more players everyone wants to see than there are slots in the tournament. There WILL be upsets.
And frankly, I'm interested in seeing what some newer players will bring. I mean, Foxer/Optimus made it to the finals and wasn't in GSL1.

How bout a spoiler next time...

Nada is so predictable to be honest I was expecting something like this is sad, tho ;(

eh, renamed it, not a big deal

I don't see why this should be renamed at all, considering..... you can't even watch the game, what are you spoiling?
It's like going "Spoiler: 2008 US Election Results" rather than just saying "Obama won"
=a=

A lot of people turned up just to see Nada play. Losing such a celebrity this early can only hurt sc2.
|
It seems like a lot of great players are failing to qualify in the preliminaries, Tester, Nada, Ensnare. ( I believe)
|
|
All the people complaining about spoilers make me lol.
It's not like the games are casted, so what is this thread spoiling, anyway? It's spoiling you from finding out the same thing in a different thread? And the existence of this thread should tip you off without reading it; nobody's going to create a thread in Community News about NaDa sailing through prelims.
OT: Disappointing, but he and Tester will be back next season, which gives me a great sense of relief.

This is really awful news, o well at least he's seeded into that S code tournament. btw cyber_cheese needs an education in esports because calling Nada "second rate" is blasphemy. Maybe he should spend more time practicing to improve his garbage play and less time insulting gods.

dammit. he was the only reason i watched gsl 2

Yeah I believe there is a team called Zenex but I don't know, maybe there's a player with that name too.

Thanks for the spoiler tag
now when I read the R&S thread I can see nada didn't qualify with all the excitement still there.
