Wow, those brackets are... a little funky. It makes me sad to see Nada and Boxer playing TvT round 1, and unless i'm reading it wrong, Boxer might play two tvts in a row... blah..

Some more interesting matchups (hope I'm reading this right):

ITR vs the guy who knocked out Tester in RO64
Inca vs Clide in RO32
Hyperdub vs CheckPrime in RO32

EDIT: after looking at Idra's bracket, he better make it to at LEAST the RO16 or it'll be pretty embarrassing.

Nice ...brackets are definitely rigged.

1.FruitDealer plays an extremely weak opponent(zenith) T.
2.TLO's weakest matchup is vs P > Sangho gonna own. They don't want TLO in they want more famous people eliminating less known people.
3.Manofoneway plays an extremely weak opponent Gas.
4.Idra's opponent is weak T.
5.Maka's opponent is weak.6
6.Same with Check, opponent is weak.

They should just put TLO vs fruitDealer straight so we can eliminate FD out. GOM loves hype unfortunately.

I think you're being a bit dumb if you think they're completely rigged. Considering they were really pushing the "global" aspect they wouldn't want TLO out in round 1.
Calling gas weak is ignorant, he was a BW progamer, if he's been practicing he should be strong.

So, TLO could meet FruitDealer in ro16 and nada could meet boxer in ro8, assuming they're still in by then.

Seems fully randomised, which I like a lot. I don't need a full on Boxer v NaDa style final yet, as everyone is still getting comfortable with their playstyle and the leagues in general. I think these brackets will make for some very interesting games, and maybe quite a few upsets. stoked.

Pretty interesting matches!

Idra playing Terran? Where did his self-respect go then? :-O

Anyways, good luck to all the participants!

I'm so excited! I just can't hide it!

I'm kinda sad that we have so many good players in the same quarter brackets, but there are so many good players out there, that I suppose it can't be helped .

You know, I think Idra's actually got a pretty good shot at getting out of his bracket. I hope he does it this time .

doesn't look like a bracket check wants to be in, considering how he did vs rainbow in gsl 1 and that clide is so solid as well.

MVP and Idra could meet in the round of 16 (if MVP can beat Zenio, ofc). That would be pretty interesting.

Why? He if he wins in RO64 he probably has to play oGsGon who plays pretty damn good. Wouldn´t be a shame to loose but I hope he´ll make it.

Kind of off topic, but are the event times in TL calendar correct for GSL???? It starts at 21:00 PDT now? If so, my sleep schedule salutes you, GOM. Additionally, I don't think TG-Sambo is a sponser for the GSL anymore.

I don't feel sorry for anyone being matched up with other good players because if a player is worth rooting for, they will win

With that being said, I expect Idra to go farther this time around. He kinda goofed last season and I think he has improved. I watched a few replays of him since then and he sends out zerglings to check for expansions regularly

It's upsetting that tester didn't make it. Not many protoss players to root for.

I love TLO but there's no way in hell I see him beating FruitDealer unless something big has changed since the last time I saw him play. FruitDealers play is just a cut above the competition for the moment. That said, fantastic brackets. A lot of interesting matches even early on

Why is everyone complaining about people getting matched up so early? You just get to see some giants go at it sooner in my opinion, especially when a good amount of the ro64 last season was full of one-sided-ness.

Why would they support Idra more than TLO?? You're paranoid lawls

These brackets are completely brutal.

Except Idra's. This is his chance.

hahaha i don't want to be a fire starter but hey, Idra seems to have an "easier" (compared to the other brackets) way up to the semis.
Wich would be great for gretech because since TLO and Idra got eliminated the stream viewer rating dropped almost to half.

I say this because when Idra or TLO were playing there were around 15.000 viewers among the restreams and when they both got eliminated i don't remember seeing more than 8.000 viewers until the finals.

But hey.... I'ts just an opinion! Just an opinion!
In the beginning there was nothing... and then exploded

There are several reasons why I'm not scared for TLO. We don't know how much SC2 Sangho has played but I'm willing to bet that it's less than TLO. Also, Sangho was a BW progamer, but he was one of the crappier progamers. If NaDa played Sangho now in BW it could go either way, and we saw what TLO did to NaDa in SC2. Maybe Sangho practiced more SC2 than NaDa but I doubt it.

(P)SangHo was one of the crappier progamers you say? I don't want to say anything about (Z)Cool , but I'm just saying, he was on eSTRO's A-Team, so he was definitely amazing at BW, just not on the level of Flash, JD, etc.
Also, (P)SangHo was pretty much in good condition when he left BW, it was just because of the whole scandal that he left. And, it seems like SangHo's been practicing a lot, according to SC2ranks, he's doing really well. Not as much as NaDa, but still a lot.

That's just my 2 cents.

IDK, besides sangho (who we haven't seen) TLO should make the Ro16. Wait CHRH is there... alright Mn this could be interesting. High risk high reward. Taking out so many big names will do wonders for TLO's korean brand.

Idra could go very far. There are worse brackets to have (namely TLOs)

Estro was the worst pro team next to Ace. I don't believe Sangho would have been on the A-team for a lot of other teams. I also believe, just my impression of watching him in PL, that NaDa and Sangho aren't too far apart in terms of BW skill, and TLO is able to take NaDa just fine. If it were someone like Effort coming in I would say that his skills are so good that less time spent on SC2 doesn't matter. Effort would destroy all. Sangho is not nearly at that level, and his macro and micro won't be good enough to counter his SC2 inexperience.

You know, sometimes I think some of you believe george bush is a lizard person.. such Paranoia.. Finding reasons for EVERY bracket to be rigged.. surely if it was random you'd still find ways to call it rigged? OMG TLO AND IDRA IN THE SAME BRACKET, rigged to discourage foreigners!

anywho, Awesome. I can't friggen wait, and the 1 or 3pm (I forget which) korean start time for the Ro64 is Awesome

I think nada's natural talent is so good, his inexperience with SC2 doesn't even matter. He stated in the recent GSL2 interview that he didn't have confidence just a few weeks ago before joining ogs. A few weeks later, he makes the main stage.

That IEM showmatch vs TLO doesn't even matter. This is the guy that his father died, he left pro gaming for over 2 years, came back and toasted everyone in his way and got the golden mouse.

i don't think that's gonna happen personally, but man.. can you imagine the number of bw pros switching to sc2 to defend their honor? I know for wcg they make a big deal to win, it's important to them to have korea be the best.. I can only see this making competition in Korea take off in SC2, as well as encouraging more foreigners to come play. Win-Win for SC2, probably not good for BW, idk I could be wrong, and it could make people lose interest, but from what I've heard they like TLO over there.

People putting way too much confidence in old SC1 pros. SC1 != SC2 and it's been shown in the replays. They're good at SC2, but not really TSL level IMO.

Semis: Fruitdealer vs Clide, Boxer vs Idra
Finals: Clide vs Idra

Clide wins.

Edit (For the slow): By old SC1 pros I mean the relative newcomers to SC2 obviously.

There's quite a bit of turnover from gsl1->2, there are people that finished very well in the 1st that didn't even qualify here, insane. Talent pool in SC2 is already ridiculously deep =o

A) Fruit-dealer
B) Clide
C) ?
D) Idra

C is the hardest bracket to predict. I honestly don't buy in to the hype of Boxer or Nada. Not yet anyway. Feel that its going to take time, for their superior Bw skill to show through in sc2.

You know, I don't think that TLO will have a hugr problem if he manages to get to FD.

Why? FD has impeccable sense of what to react to and counter, the problem is, TLO doesn't necessarily play standard and comes up with very unorthodox plays. It's not that I think he is better then ITR necessarily, but much less legible. Zerg is a reactive race, and TLO is much harder to read IMO.

Then again, 1.1.2 helps so...who knows.

Idra won't be able to beat Maka or oGsMC.
Other than that, it looks good. If he's lucky enough for Maka to get eliminated before the "finals" of his group, he might go forth.

I'm going to laugh so hard when ChickenCombo 3-0's Idra haha. Watch him do some crazy strat that destroys the Destiny Cloud Fist build with his new and improved Chicken Biscuit Mash Potatos build order.

I actually like the brackets to be honest, With high hyped matches in ro64 and ro32, each week we will have matches to look forward to. Theres no fun watching squash matches and match result upsets when we're excited for every weeks games!

I'm looking forward to FruitDealer vs. EllenPage (#1 on the ladder in Korea). I imagine FruitDealer will take out his first round opponent with ease.

I'm seriously worried about TLO vs SangHo. TvP is TLOs worst matchup by far -- just check out the TLO v TT1 showmatch series. Plus, SangHo is no slouch. If he's been practicing SC2 hard at all, I can see him taking out TLO without too much trouble. My heart's with TLO, but I just had to vote SangHo on liquibet.

Am I the only one thinking Boxer and NaDa in the same bracket is a good thing? The odds are much, much greater that we'll get to see them play each other this way. Had they been in different brackets, the odds of them both being good enough to make it out of their bracket to play each other this early after release would be incredibly low.
