On this list, http://service.futuremark.com/hardware/graphicsCardsList.action The ATI Radeon HD 4770 for $104, is that a dream come true or whats up with that? If its really the 6'th best performance card, hell yeah I might get it. Would my 420 wat power supply be okay with that card?

I'm not sure if your 420 can handle it!

Also i believe the 32nm architecture will be introduced with the i7/i9 line in 4q 2010, while the i5/i3 lines are left out until later.

That said, to claim that "Core i7 920 is on par with the cheap i5s" is in itself an issue, no? For one, I think i5s overclock higher stable than 920s. The ability to use HT is a plus, but not to all that many people. I still think that the 920, to a certain group of people, will work out better than i5s, but the latter is an excellent mainstream solution with much better value when we consider how expensive LGA 1366 mobos are.

Not true, core i7 920 is on par with the cheap i5s, and overclocks higher along with the ability to enable HT. Also the idea that i5's overclock higher is pretty stupid. It really depends on total system configuration. For example if a guy with a cramped mATX case and a $49 mobo tries to overclock his i7 and can only get it to 3.1 before it crashes, you can't fairly say that an i5 in a brand new case (like a skeleton or something) which can overclock to 4ghz is superior. Case in point: I have an i7 920 @ 4.2ghz, which several reviews will say can't be achieved without liquid or other extreme forms of cooling. It depends on the system configuration 100%.

If you accomplished 4.2ghz with a C0 stepping 920 though that's another story, I salute you. Or rather, your processor. But really, the whole thing about i5 and i7 920 raw speed is pointless, for one, no one is addressing the presence of HT on the latter. Also, to pick at system configuration is also quite odd, since few people here seem to be basing their opinion on what they have done themselves. In a review setting, we seldom see budget limitations play a large role. When we consider that as early as late August we had reviews along the lines of "I do however have no problem suggesting that with a little BIOS tweaking and maturation, and good cooling, that many of you will be seeing fully 100% load stability at 4.2GHz and possibly even 4.4GHz on air with the Intel Core i5-750.", the point is pretty much already settled. The i5 is definitely not going to lose out to the 920 in terms of just speed, when we start accounting for a more mature turboboost technology, which favors the i5 by far...yeah. The i7's advantage lies elsewhere, comparisons about speed like this is pointless.

The 1366 has full pcie x16 enough for quad fire / quad sli. The P55 chipset limits your sli and crossfire to 1 lane of x16. So in higher end rigs you do start to see a drop of fps usually not enough to effect the game. But 1366 still has a clear performance bonus and niche.

Shieru just buy, Gigabyte or Asus they produce quality mobos nearly all the time. Not like fucking MSI and DFI ass mobos that don't have proper heat flow for ambient temps and burn out too soon. Really you only have a choice of intel Ion or no ion. Also if you're going for a 9400 GS/GT pcie card for gaming you'd still be lucky to run sc2 off that old 3200+ even if you scape by with your pcie slot. 9400 ain't that powerful and neither is a 3200+ got it ass handed to by c2d when it was new and that hasn't changed.
