Not even close. Easily there are better scorers in the league, Dirk being one of them. The guy's fadeaway shot is literally untouchable. Not to mention others like Kobe, Lebron, Wade, etc. Melo's a good scorer, but he has so many issues in his game (lackadaisical defense).

people were talking about melo as one the best scorers in the league 2 years ago, he did finish 2nd in the scoring title. he was averaging like 30ppg before ai came

His defense this game was amazing I thought. He looked like the best player offensively and defensively on the floor that game.
|
Ugh Nuggets should have won that.
|
one of the best =/= the best.
Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Durant are all better scorers than Melo. I'd even say Dirk is a better scorer. I'd put him in the top 10, but not THE best.

yep he played really great today.

Only reason they didn't is because Gasol is fucking imbalanced at rebounds. And J.R smith. And missed FT's.

Though Melo was definitely the most impressive this game, defensively and offensively. kobe, the best closer in the game

I agree Anthony had a phenomenal game and his defense was very impressive. However, one game of superb defense does not make up for an entire career of mediocre defense. What is clear though is that melo definitely has the potential to step up his game.

Yeah but he's stepped his game up through the entire playoffs. And tonight he really shined. (I'm expecting him to continue this performance until the lakers win 4-2 or whatever). I'm mostly expecting them to win because of rebound differences more than anything.

i have never seen carmelo play this competitively. hats off to him - he played a phenomenoal game.
edit: er he has been playing phenomenonal the entire playoffs, actually

I agree, and as such I will revise my earlier comment from "one game" to "one playoffs"

and Chauncey playing like shit until he hit 2 insanely clutch 3's in the last 2 mins of the 4th.

And Denver was horrible at the line

I thought it was brilliant having ariza guard chauncey.
I know denver has played very well so far but I think they are a year away. All the championship teams have gone through their learning years where they will lose a tough series against the established team and then come back a year or two later and finally overcome that hurdle. Billups obviously has the experience but denver as a whole needs some more playoff seasoning IMO to be able to overcome a team like the lakers.

does kobe have 6 techs now?
|
5 (did he get one today?) they rescinded his one vs artest

Yes he got one for slammin' da ball down.

That is so cliched. The two bad nuggets play in closing were an Ariza steal off Billups, which is ironic since Ariza has the least playoff experience of the lakers aside from shannon brown, and kenyon martin committing a bad reach in.
