Fantasy Proleague Trading ThreadShinhan 08/09 - Round 2
This will be the thread where I will be posting the trades that will be available each week. In order to complete a trade, you must PM me the trade you wish to make (except for this week, where you PM Hot_Bid). Posting requests in this thread to make trades to you team will NOT be honored. The reason for this is that a PM can never be edited and will always be available for reference. Use this thread to discuss the trades that are offered each week and to suggest players you would like to get rid of and/or players you would like to pick up for future trade weeks. I will do my best to include the players that people would like to trade away or pick up.
Trading Rules
1. You must PM me the trades you wish to make before the closing time.
2. You may not trade away your captain.
3. You must have at least one player from each race on your team at all times.
4. You may not have duplicates of any player on your team.
5. When you trade away a player, you keep all points that player has earned up to that point.
6. When a player you trade for is added to your team, you do not get any of the points he has earned so far. You only get the points he earns in the future.
7. Trades do not care about the points spent to put a player on your team. It doesn’t matter if you go over thirty and if you go under thirty that’s fine too. You don’t get to build up any “credits” by trading down to below thirty points.
There are two kinds of trades. One Way trades and Two Way trades.
One Way trades will look like this: “Player A >>> Player B.” If you have the player on the left (Player A), you may only trade him away to receive the player on the right (Player B), not the other way around.
Two Way trades will look like this: “Player A <<< >>> Player B.” If you have either player, you may trade the player you have away to receive the player on the other side of the trade.
Players in the trades will be listed with the points it would have originally cost to place them on your team as well as the number of points they have earned so far this season. The cost will be listed to the left of the player in parenthesis and the current points that player has scored will be listed to the right of that player. Ex: (9)  Flash – 7. Remember, in any trade, you keep the points you have already earned and you will not get the points previously earned by the player you receive, only their future points.
Trades for Week 6
There will be NO TRADES for Week 6.
I've given it a night of thought and there are just too few games left for trading to be anything more than a pick who you think will win their final game. If your team got you this far, your final lineup should show the players that got you here rather than some last week changes. People should be able to look at a lineup and determine what that owner did right/wrong, not just see a bunch of last minute trade results.
This week I am offering a bunch of additional trades to allow players that have been removed from their teams’ rosters to be traded away for a player that is on the roster. I’m not listing the cost values or current points for any of these players. If you have any of the players on the left… you need to get rid of them anyway. You should have done it after the new lineups were posted before the deadline, but not everyone got that chance. All the players are trades within the same team and all of the current scores are equal on both sides. They are all one way trades.

Bisu owners: trading for Kal is not a bad idea, SKT takes on Woongjin this week, while STX takes on ACE.
I think there should be an option for Midas and Nada two-way trade next week.

To those who have TheZerg or Nada... or some other 2-3 point player. These are the players that aren't expected to get points every week. If TheZerg or Nada get more than 10 points after the end of the round, they were more than worth the two points you spent on them, which means they only need a couple wins to be worth their cost.
There is a reason why they were only worth two points, because they didn't earn a lot of points the previous round. (TheZerg had no wins and two losses, he's technically doing better already this round than he was last round. Nada only played two games last round as well, so he shouldn't be expected to be in the lineup each week anyway.) You shouldn't expect these 2-3 point players to perform as well as a player worth significantly more points. I can offer trades for these players... but don't expect any wonderful deals for them because there weren't a lot of expectations point-wise from them to begin with based on the costs it took to put them on your team.

JangBi for By.Movie? Movie's pretty good, but there's no way anyone would take that trade. Samsung only played 1 match in week 1, and it's not like JangBi got clobbered by a nobody.

So is there a general set of rules you are going to follow when making the trades? Such as no trades across race, 1 way trades only go from higher cost player to lower cost player, 2way trades have to be equal in cost, etc.
It seems right now there's a common theme of High cost low point total players being traded for lower relative cost players with higher point totals.

The high to low theme is just something for this week (though something that will also probably continue). In future weeks there will be more trade variance as time goes on there is more to evaluate each players' performances.
It will probably generally be higher cost player to lower cost player in the one way trades (especially the first week or two) but it's not an absolute rule that I'm going to follow and I expect there to be trades that deviate from this.
The two way trades by nature will be fairly equal though as I'd like to imagine players looking at both ways of the trade as possibilities. The only way to really ensure this is to make both players in the trade fairly equal.
Trades across race will be less common, but they will exist. They will be less common for the purpose that a team may only have one player of a given race and then would be unable to trade due to the race rule.
There will also likely be future one way trades that will have an option of two or more different players to choose one from on the right hand side of the trade.

TheZerg for GGPlay is probably not going to happen. It'd make a lot of people happy, but it would probably make a lot of the current GGPlay owners sad. We will wait and see what happens this coming week before I decide what would be a good trade for him next week.

I wouldn't say you should expect to be able to. It'd be unusual if the trade were just a reverse with the same players, so you'd have to hope to have someone else that would tradable for Stork/Bisu.

thezerg vs ggplay given their current records is suicidally imbalanced. you have one player worth 2 points and 0 wins vs a player who is currently undefeated. it'd just be a trade that gives +X points arbitrarily to people that were lucky enough to have Thezerg, and thus completely unfair to everyone else in the league.

Well i don't know what semioldguy can come up with for this kind of trade . I think the best option you will get is a SKT 1 zerg maybe s2 and knowing that they are a combine 1 - 15 this season and growing . I don't know if he will either get to play anymore now with TheZerg in the lineup or even if he plays don't know how much you'll get from him other then geting a point for his team winning , but thats practicly the same if MBC wins . SKT still starts with 0 - 1 loss from their zergs if they don't start winning ...

sKyHigh has been a best-value player. At a cost of 0 points, he earned 4 already for anyone who picked him. If he manages to beat Pusan this week, the chance to trade him for a top tier terran should be offered. Maybe someone like Leta, FBH or fOrGG.

the problem with suggesting trades is that we are only going to allow ones that have equal value or else it imbalances the game

From a pure proleague point of view TheZerg sucks.
From a Fantasy PL point of view he is worth it... And if he wins 2-3 games he will be an awesome pick (if you also have SKT1 and they win).

SKTelecom has won all three matches, Thezerg thus has 0 individual points as a result of his losses canceling out his appearance points, but he gets +3 team wins from SKT.

no. That would destroy any and all objectivity to the game. If a trade is favorable to the player than its not a fair trade for others.

Trades will generally be speculative, based upon recent performance and to a lesser extent costs spent to put those players on teams. No trade should be an automatic decision, they should require some debate as to whether it could be advantageous to take them or not.
I think the trades from last week generally achieved this as several people decided to eventually take back their trades before the time was up and many other who did stick with the trades said it was a difficult decision to make. There were also people during the week regretting not taking a trade who also mention the decision not to was very close for them and also a difficult decision. That is one of my goals when creating trades, for them not to be easy decisions.

I disagree, TheZerg could win max 1 point this week for your team, in the most optimistic case the New Emperor could deliver about 6 (or even more having in mind he might be send into an ACE game) In short term Casy is the better investment, to have him you risk only the possible 1 point that you would get from the zerg, if SKT manage to win their match.

Hm.. True... If you believe that Casy actually can wins a game or not, for me it S.E.S next to impossible that Casy wins anything. He did not look good in his Last few games...
Ace also won't win many games... If they win something at all....
Question is:
Trade Thezerg and some *sure* SKT1 points for Casy which has to fight 2 scrubs this week while still not being the favorite and having even less of a chance for a Teamwin? In the long run Thezerg will probably end up being better and I would not put money on Casy because it's unlikely that it's allowed to trade him back after his next 2 games.

mate, you should check out casys last few games, he barely lost to fantasy and absolutely destroyed Really, I'm pretty sure that he has the best shot of winning games for ACE. For my 4 points or so investment in my two ACE players I got 11 points so far... not bad at all. The only reason I'm not autotrading the zerg for casy is because with 3 ACE players in my FPL team I will get extremely dependable from their performance which is risky if not insane. But having in mind casy is like the only terran option in ACE atm, you should really pick him, cause if not else he will have the chance to win games for you every week. You could only guess when thezerg will appear in SKT's line-up next

You could trade Woongjin for KTF... but your team is generally doing pretty well and I don't think you'd want to trade away most of your players anyway.

I have an idea about the trades next week. Lets allow to trade your team ( by which I mean for example STX, SKT ect.) for any of the teams ranked bellow it, by keeping the points your original team won to you. For example I have SKT, which have 10 points so far. For some reason I think they will slump (not that they actually will but I'm saying it to explain the idea) and I want to trade them away for a lower ranked team, which I think will improve in the next week or two. So I keep the 10 points I have from SKT and trade the team away for lets say KTF. The hole idea is worth it imo because it will allow more personalization and strategies to get involved.

To make trades more fair, there should be 6 one way and 6 two way trades. One player and only one player from each team can be in a one way trade and only one player from each team in a two-way trade.

A lot of this week's trades are between players on the same team and which player you think might be getting more playtime as the second round comes to a close. As newer players are rising within the ranks of their team... which of them are going to start getting the playtime and wins more than the seasoned vets?

This is difficult to do because certain teams will have the easy portion of their schedule early in the season when others get it later. Also not every team plays the same amount of games each week and allowing to trade into teams that play two games for every week is unbalanced. Right now I'd trade almost any team for Lecaf because they have only played three games so far (compared to other teams that have played six) and they still have a lot of the easier teams to play still.
That being said I'm going to start including more team trades each week.

Ace has scored more points so far this season... the two teams are playing each other this week and ACE has favorable matches and could win. Especially if KTF doesnt get out of their downward spiral.
If ACE wins this week, chances are good that they will be included in a trade next week as well.

It really sucks that the one week you put TheZerg in the trade market, I'm out of town and I have to sit stuck with him. It hurts even more that I missed the chance to get Casy for TheZerg. It sucks that I'm stuck at rank 35th because I have TheZerg and he is not contributing at all. It sucks even more knowing I won't go any further with TheZerg in the team. Btw, I also propose Movie and sKyHigh for trading.

I have 3 ACE players in my team and I'm currently 8th or smth like this so thezerg is not the only problem of your line-up

god, mind for best is so tempting. but mind will get more lineup appearances and more ace match appearances, and is also on a 6 game win streak (with his upcoming game against go.go)
and I really, REALLY, want to get rid of Much (gotten practically nothing from him, and has zero lineup appearances in their 2 upcoming matches), but for thezerg? ugh.
edit: okay I just checked and see that intrigue has best, which means mind for best isn't really a good trade for me since I need as much difference in our teams as possible if I want any chance of catching up with him

I'm sitting down for trades. Although TheZerg is playing like crap, I still think he can make more points overall than Zergbong. At least I have still hope for him to do a little better. I like my star players just fine(Flash, Bisu and Jangbi). I'd only consider trading movie or sKyHigh if it's a no-brainer, but I don't think tptb will be that generous.
Btw, that Flash vs Leta was soooooooo tempting. But since I've decided to stick with my big three for the moment, I just hope I don't regret it.

There will be NO TRADES for Week 6.
I've gievn it a night of thought and there are just too few games left for trading to be anything more than a pick who you think will win their final game. If your team got you this far, your final lineup should show the players that got you here rather than some last week changes. People should be able to look at a lineup and determine what that owner did right/wrong, not just see a bunch of last minute trade results.
