Altough i'm portuguese, i'm not a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, but how can anyone say that he wasn't the best last season? and that he underperformed against big teams... He greatly helped Man Utd to win the EPL... The number of the so called small teams in the EPL is like 4 or 5 Teams... He scored 8 Goals on the Champions League... and he underperformed in Portugal because Scolari just Sux... And i won't change my mind about that... Ah, and he was injured for the last 20% of the season...

yea lol linesman didnt have his best day at work, luckily united were so much better that it didnt matter, but 3 wrong decisions regarding goals is an incredible amount..

and ronaldo pretty much didnt have a bad game last season, he just had bad games compared to the standard he sets for himself. I mean today he had a really crappy game, but if it wasn't ronaldo it would be considered ok. (one assist is usually decent enough. ) and he wasn't bad in the big games, he just wasn't dominating like against bad teams. (although at least in norway he was considered man of the match of the finals:p )

man i dont understand how a team can go from fighting for champion's league spot to bottom of table this quickly, there's must be something terribly wrong that no one knows about yet. Spurs have money and talent but imo they have done terribly in the transfer market. None of the players they buy from other leagues end up fulfilling their promise except for berbatov whom they sold. Where is Luka Modric this season?

random factor + lack of confidence.. you can easily lose 3 close games in a row, its mathematically likely to happen at some point, then losing 3 games in a row however usually makes you play worse in the fourth one. once you've gone 10 games without winning, a world class player is no longer world class.

True, it just really sucks for this to happen to Tottenham, they're a really ambitious club and have spent and done so much over the past few seasons to try to squeeze into the top four but every season they fall short and they have't had much luck in the uefa cup either. I thought Juande Ramos was the manager for them seeing what he did at Sevilla, and they did win a trophy last season but then this off-season they made some pretty questionable moves, the Berbatov sell they couldn'tve prevented but selling their most consistent striker Robbie Keane to their biggest rival for fourth place Liverpool was a terrible move. The guy they got to replace them, Pavluchenko is very overpriced I think.

Overall, they have a wide knowledge base of players, they have money, but they sell their best players and ones they've gotten to replace them haven't done as nearly as well.

It's very sad to watch teams like Blackburn who had a great manager in Mark Hughes, great overperforming, talented squad pulled apart by money, then compare them to Tottenham who have loads of money but lack the personnel to make it count.
