Well, actually, I've spent some time correcting truthers on some obvious flaws, like they point to the tower falling and time it without realizing that the dust makes it impossible to see when the actual building hits the ground.
A national police force as large as the army is not a conspiracy, its in an actual fricken speech. It would at the very least be extremely expensive.
At the most, with other things including, it hints at some scary possibilities. But I only included that since you made the comparison. It could happen. Its happened before. WHO KNOWS. McCain could do it!
Even conservative blogs have acknowledged that he didn't mean a national police force (and he didn't say it either.) He said 'civilian national security force' and in political terms, national security is an extremely vague term meaning essentially anything that improves your country. It's a somewhat statist view of geopolitics but it's much less hardline than everyone before him, which is refreshing. He's really just talking about soft power and diplomacy.

If you actually watch it (I doubt you will, but others might) it's clear he's talking about civilian activism. Right before the statement, he talks about expanding AmeriCorps/PeaceCorps/etc. and right after he talks about increasing the number of foreign service officers, etc.
Unless you're a major hawk, it's difficult not to appreciate his stance. Like the article says, the majority of foreign policy experts (actual analysts/academics, not TV personalities) are in his camp. I'm pretty sure the rest of the world is glad that he's talking diplomacy first.

You brought up a comparison asking me if Obama was like stalin. Obviously Stalin and Hitler had similar characteristics. If I point out that he is like Hitler he is also like Stalin. But I was not seriously making a point, just merely bringing something up.
