Now this is motherfucking interesting. Sunnis (even though the Taliban are probably lying) acting out of fear of shias. The civil war may be escalating to the international level. I'm curious to see what happens between SA and Iran, because the big shia minority in SA has been oppressed for a long time (they're considered lower than jews) and they look to Iraq and Iran for support. Oh, and they live almost entirely in the eastern provinces where the oil fields are.
My guess is they're going to try and vilify Iran togerher, even though the Kingdom and Taliban are/have been more oppressive and ruthless than Iran's theocratic republic.

I don't see what Sunni/Shia has to do with it. The Taliban has lost about 50 men for every dead coalition soldier. They've been taking it up the ass. Moreover, they've always been more moderate than Al Qaeda. This is an important first step to reintegrating them into Afghani politics, which is the only way we're going to have stability in that country.
John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs.
The Republican presidential nominee has said little about the proposed cuts, but they are needed to keep his health-care plan "budget neutral," as he has promised. The McCain campaign hasn't given a specific figure for the cuts, but didn't dispute the analysts' estimate.
Mr. Holtz-Eakin said the Medicare and Medicaid changes would improve the programs and eliminate fraud, but he didn't detail where the cuts would come from. "It's about giving them the benefit package that has been promised to them by law at lower cost," he said.

Because SA and the Taliban are going to be painted in a better light because of it. The Taliban may not be attacking other countries like AQ is, but they had terrorized their own people for quite a while. I'm hoping the massive humanitarian violations both governments have imposed don't go forgotten, especially since the public is so willingly attributing them to Iran/Palestine.
WSJ is right about the Lebanon/Katie's thing. I think the rest is a bit weak. I believe Biden was pushing for early actual intervention in Serbia, not just the slow/inaccurate air strikes that actually took place. WSJ was always conservative, but that Editorial makes it seem like they'd like to be the NYT for Republicans.
Does it really matter who's elected in the end? all end up as puppets in the end for the big corp. and companies. Why most things they say when running hardly happens once they are president. Last several presidents we have had (USA) has been control by corps. and big companies.
You got to remember all these people gets fundings to help them run. Most who provide are companies they pay them back by increasing their profits and doing what they try to swing the president to do. Basically, they buy off the person running by supporting him. Once he gets to office president basically is control but some of these companies because of how much they funded. Companies are stupid they don't fund just to be nice. They do it for control.

BTW, I hope everyone knows that the debate tonight is "town hall" format. This is much riskier for both candidates and sometimes you can really get an interesting show.
If anybody thought the last debate was too dry should tune in to this one. Candidates will be taking questions from the audience.

EDIT: I guess they disabled embedding, you have to go to the actual link to view it.
Gore is a giant prick in it but that's exactly what he was trying to do. He has to be one of the most intelligent and well trained politicians we've ever had, but I don't think he's capable of holding back his attacks. Him vs. Palin would've been the blood bath we were hoping for.
Amazing how different things are these days. There's no place for intelligent discussion, just yelling and reciting platitudes. The whole election resembles a reality TV show now there's no dignity or integrity at all.
Not to discount the Keating 5, but that regulator is really only qualified to talk about the details of the case, not of McCain's greater judgment. Remember, he's speaking on behalf of his job as well so there's a conflict of interest. They should've stopped that video at about 9 minutes.
Also I'd like to point out that this week the "rallies" for McCain and Palin are more like mobs, with the GOP trying to portray Obama as a terrorist pretty much endangers his life. Hell today a supporter yelled out that Obama should be killed and the cunt VP candidate said nothing to try and rebuttal what the person said, a death threat.
