People support things like the patriot act, while furious that the government takes note of how many guns they own. People who say that Katrina was God's wrath against the gays, but the fact that half the northwest is underwater is a horrible tragedy.
I can't stand the fuss over gay marriage. Pastors freaking out and refusing to perform ANY marriages. Yet we forget that when schools were first desegregated, parents pulled their children out of school, outraged that their kids might have to go to school with black people. Catholic schools claimed that desegregating violated their religious beliefs and that the government had no right to insist they let black kids attend. We don't learn very quickly as a nation.
I hate that people tout this country as the most open, freedom loving nation, founded on the idea that everyone is equal. Again, we forget that this nation was founded on the idea that all white christian land-owning males are equal. And oh my god, the uproar about the recent restoration of habeus corpus. "WHO THE FUCK DOES THE JUDICIARY BRANCH OF THE GOVERNMENT THINK IT IS?? DECIDING WHAT IS AND WHAT ISN'T CONSTITUTIONAL! BULLSHIT!" Well fuck me sideways. The judiciary branch doing exactly what it's supposed to to. How un-American.
But most of all, it's that we think we are the best at everything. Americans in general, (though there are always exceptions), are convinced from birth that we're the greatest fucking country on the planet. Yet the bulk of them have never left the country. A friend of mine at college was from England, and was living in the states for school. On more than one occasion, people we encountered were amazed to discover that she intended to go back to England after she graduated. Some remarks were so very blatant too. "Why would you want to go back?" or, "You've already made it to America, why would you want to leave?" Mind blowing.

After learning about our history from WWI on, I was so pissed off how our government still tries to meet quebec's and our first nations demands. They could have had it so much worse, they complained all the while so eventually Canada gave into these kind of things (like how EVERY province in BC has to have french and english labels on certain things, and they get their own this and that and their votes count for like 2x as much as an english vote in government (i dont know the details but thats the gist of it). And first nations complain all about how they had this and that taken away from them, and how their greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgrandfather went to some native camp, so they sue the government for like $30 million. Im like WTF? how does any of this relate to anything in the past. It just angers my so much that the government gives in to them

China:
1. Corruption EVERYWHERE. It's all about who you know, the favors you do, and how deep your pocket is.
2. People aren't concerned with public health. As long as their house or community is clean, the city streets can be layered in spit, trash, shit, or w/e.
3. Society pressures for the young to HAVE to go to college. result? Like around 30% (at least where I'm from) of high school freshmen can't go to college because there simply is no room for more students.
4. Difficulty to find jobs.
5. The news is fucked up.
6. Thieves and scammers, more of those than flies in Australia I bet.

I was just going to ignore the criticism of my comment, but since so many people are paying attention to it i'll point out the obvious: i said i don't like loud people, especially the shrieking black girls i see every day. did i say "all black girls shriek loudly like monkeys"? NO I said i hate the ones that do. as others have stated, such girls do exist.
if that's racist, then saying "i hate those people who rob and kill others, including the members of that category who are black" is racist.
is it racist to say anything negative about a black person? even if it's TRUE? racist generalizations like "all black people smoke crack" are racist because they are false. a true statement can never be racist, otherwise racism would be right =\.

Ok, let me elaborate. I do not notice that a larger proportion of black women are loud than any other race. However, being not loud, doing well in school, living in the suburbs, liking music that isn't rap, often leads to others (of all races) to say they act "white," so retardedness is omnipresent I suppose.
