The RNC followed McCain's example and I've heard more conservatives complain. I doubt it will hurt McCain. The way they're doing this is the way it usually goes recently for Republicans. The nominee stays above the fray by publicly distancing/denouncing the smear tactics, while his surrogrates or party officials are the ones who are counted on to attack the opponent. The same thing happened to Kerry in the 2004 election with the swiftboating stuff, and ironically, also to McCain in the 2000 South Carolina primary with G.W. Bush's "whisper campaigns" against him. This way McCain can still remain palatable to moderates while the base of the party gets energized to vote against Obama.

They are denying it but I am a little wary seeing how if she does indeed lose the state will she lawyer up. Could she really be that dumb? That would send a clear message of fear and desparation, and even if she won the democratic nomination she would never, ever win the election. I also wonder if there's something in the timing of the Deomcrats' attacks against McCain over his funding. They came just as he was secure enough to start attacking Obama. Could the party be trying to divert as much of his attention from their candidates as posisble until the nomination is done and the Democratic nominee has the time to fight back?

The media has anointed Barack Obama the presumptive nominee and he's playing the part. With an eleven state winning streak coming out of February, Senator Obama is riding a surge of momentum that has enabled him to pour unprecedented resources into Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont. The Obama campaign and its allies are outspending us two to one in paid media and have sent more staff into the March 4 states. In fact, when all is totaled, Senator Obama and his allies have outspent Senator Clinton by a margin of $18.4 million to $9.2 million on advertising in the four states that are voting next Tuesday. Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches. If he cannot win all of these states with all this effort, there's a problem. Should Senator Obama fail to score decisive victories with all of the resources and effort he is bringing to bear, the message will be clear: Democrats, the majority of whom have favored Hillary in the primary contests held to date, have their doubts about Senator Obama and are having second thoughts about him as a prospective standard-bearer. lol On February 29 2008 06:13 fusionsdf wrote: obama/bloomberg yo http://www.ny1.com/ny1/content/index.jsp?stid=1&aid=78994

Damn, I'm so nervous. Gonna be watching CNN March 4th (March 5th morning here) all the way through! What the fuck. You live in Singapore and you think you know more about American politics than me. I live in fucking America and let me tell you, Obama may win Texas, but Hillary's going to win Ohio. What the essentially says is that the Dem. race will go on even further. In the end, Obama may win. But I wouldn't be too surprised if Hillary manages to win.
