I've been to computer programing camps in the past, basically what you did was you learned how to program (C++, Visual basic, etc.) played computer games a couple hours a day, and went outside for like 1 hour a day. This was a DAY camp, NOT overnight and this was ranging in the 500+ dollars. The camp did NOT cover any food (unless u paid to go ovrnight) and it did not have a T.V. with fucking OGN vods playing. Nor did it have a tournament at the end where you have a chance to win 1/3 of your money back...

LMFAO programing camps. Well anyway... 750$ IS a high price. The last camp i went to was a basketball camp at the University of Maryland which was 500$. And this camp offered 2 weeks of basketball tournies, training, and recreation games in the Maryland Stadium. They supplied all the food and sleeping arrangements and it was seemingly alot more structured than this idea.

I'm not saying anything about Dudey or Rekrul here, because hell, if i could get people to pay me money for me to train them in BW, ofcourse i would. But for someone else to pay that much money... to go to a camp run by 2 people that are probably around the same age as you, to teach you things that can be taught over the internet, just doesnt make much sense. What kind of structure would this camp have? Who will be in charge? What if some cocky mofo shows up thinking he runs shit and tells other people where he's sleeping, what time he's going to sleep, and who is playing who. All it seems like to me is a bunch of teenage bw players getting together for a week and just hanging out.

Think about it, how structured do you think it would be to go to the movies with them and fellow bw'ers.. you think they'd have morning call to wake you guys up at a certain time, then walk you guys there in a single file line? It would jus be like a bunch of friends going to the movies together, except all of them but 2 had to pay 750$. I dunno.. i just have a hard time picturing this as a serious idea. Most of the time when you go to a camp, you know who's in charge, and theirs a system already in place. What if a dispute comes up and someone wants a refund, are there any legal documents that need to be signed in the event that would happen? lol what about meals? Will it just be 'wake up and fix wutever you want' or will they cook for you and serve you. It sounds like it could possibly be fun just hanging out for a week playing bw and learning, for some people i guess... but the idea of it being a structured camp run by 2 guys pretty much like you... who play the game, but just happen to be alot better at it, seems like a joke.
Dont confuse me wit these suckas... cuz when I spit, you here more OOOs than a skip to my lou move.. at the ruckers - Lloyd Banks

True.

But holy shit $750 for a starcraft camp? OMG what do you get out of that? in 5 years no ones gonna care about starcraft.

I'm betting more like 1 year. But really... 750 is perfectly reasonable. I don't know the costs of camps in nzl, but most camps that need computers and computer equipment cost 500+ easily for 1 week.

These guys arnt even qualified to teach it.

very true, actually this and no scholorship are the only 2 reasons why 750 might be too steep.

If Boxer decided to hold a SC camp I would still think it was stupid, but I wouldnt find it disgustingly hillarious.

I actually heard from a friend, that Boxer, Garmito, and Yellow actually all MET at a starcraft camp. Can anything tell me if this is bullshit?

Well no one knows if you even CAN teach, just because your great at the game doesn't mean you know how to teach it well, I know the information of your business is confidentail, but it would be nice if some of your custemers(sp?) told us how they thought you did.

Now ilnp I dunno... =/

ilnp has the best communicative skills out of any BW gamer.

Plus he won WDT.

How is that not qualified?

He does have amazing communication skills, and I agree he is a very good player. But like I said, being great at the game doesn't automatically make you a good teacher, and vice versa. Just look at any sport teachers, all the players could beat them by an insane amount in a 1v1, but they probably can't teach half as well.

I'm not saying you two aren't good teachers, for all I know your great. But the point is we don't know if you guys are good or not... =/

Commander, more like they went to a starcraft camp- as part of their show TZP (Terran zerg protoss) featuring garimto yellow and boxer :o at least that's how I remember it :o Might have been sort of finishing off the show since it was supposed to stop shortly after (with garimto planning to retire etc, not that he had announced that yet but I can only guess ;o).

I just had a camp starcraft at my home: it cost 5 euros, involved 4 people including 1 progamer and increased my APM by 20-30.

Plus it showed how nervous some people are about a WCG match (Hi Raszi ) and how other people need to tell everyone about their 197 APM, '11 minutes of pure art' game (Hi Naz )

Oh, and it also involved meat asking me if he could install roger wilco to help rekrul with his 'lessons-in-dutch-pronounciation' (which i thought was fine, it just didn't actually happen)

I don't think there should be a question of whether or not Rekrul and ILNP can help any individual who possesses a thirst and determination to learn and improve in the area of BW.

I don't see what in the name of god they are going to teach. READ THE ART OF WAR! Then put it into practice. =|

p.s. why would anyone want to subject themselves to the condescension of ilnp and rekrul?
