Talent changes are completely free now in any rest area, and every healing class has several talents that allow them to do decent enough damage to solo things. I've only played Paladin leveling up in this patch and I 2 shot things as Holy, but that's kind of to be expected nowadays, will have to wait till I hit WoD content to see how much damage I actually do. For actual healing, I prefer Druid. They received the fewest changes, have great solo potential because they can basically cross-spec one of their forms and play as Bear/Cat/Moonkin, and have a really good Talent split between raid healing and tank healing that allows them to do one or the other on a whim. Second best is Monk but I don't like Monk, and third best is probably priest because I love me some Atonement healing, though I'm not sure how effective it is since I haven't tested it post-patch. | ||

I wouldn't worry about stat weights that much right now I get what your saying there, swapping gems to best stat and to gear in my bags gives a dmg increase in the range of 5-10% according to simcraft. Some secondary stats being worth almost twice as much as others is enough to overpower a small ilvl gap. Not much but it's a little edge How is DK? It looked like they removed the different rune types | ||

If you have gear that has int & agility (one will be greyed out) and you go into Feral Spec it will turn to Agi. If you change into Resto spec it will go to Int. So I can just level as Restoration and just pick Feline Affinity in the talent tree and when I shapeshift to cat form, my gear goes agi correct? | ||

First off its Feral Affinity, using wrong names just ends up in confusion. And not exactly. If your Resto specced with Feral Affinity and you switch to cat you gain 100% of your Int as Agi. The stats do not actually change and you can have Int only gear without downside. (numbers taken from the wow forums, could have changed by now). If you however switch to the Feral spec all the hybrid Int/Agi gear will switch to Agi while pure int gear becomes useless (the Int part anyway, Secondary stats ofc function as normal). Additionally you may end up not even doing much more damage as a Resto Cat compared to just casting damage spells. | ||

But I think they're in the minority. Even a 10% DPS change I wouldn't really care about for just messing around in HFC, mythic dungeons, etc, for these few weeks. I guess my point is it that if you like that side of the game, then feel free to indulge, but otherwise don't fret for now. Frost DK is pretty fun imo. It'll depend on what build ends up being best, but the one I'm playing now is pretty fun, as far as having a rotation based on a priority system and having to react to things. And there's no downtime. Unholy seems a lot more boring in comparison. Really easy decisions to make with Unholy and stretches of no activity. Though maybe with higher Haste it'd feel a little better. Would still be pretty simple. Also I prefer the animations/sounds/feel of Frost. | ||
