They did it for the 400 ilvl loot that Alliance get for the war mode quests, and will be changing back to horde before end of week.

Apparently they used in-game gold. I think the minimum they would have needed was said to be around 70million (which as you said is about 9-10k usd).

This makes up for how much residuum method got in comparison to limit I guess.

They're going for world first again, we're talking about people that have invested a 4 digit number of hours each - just for BOD - setting up characters so that they can have the best shot at getting it after playing for like 18 hours a day every day for a week or two. Convenience of transferring once or twice isn't really a factor

A lot of these top players actually do earn a lot of money (out of game and in) for playing at the highest level even through legit channels, sometimes enough to live very comfortable lives for a while with WoW as their job. The really insane people are those investing a ton of time to raid at lower levels with nothing to show for it in the end.

Some of the gems persist on wipe too.
I think it was Ruby? We wiped and our Rogue started the 2nd kill with the gem active lol.
Cleared 8/9 normal in 3 hours. 7 facestomps followed by a surprisingly tough 8th boss.
3 azerite drops already, they went from "too hard to get azerite" to "way too easy to get azerite" imo.

First off, they transferred 50 people so its $1500 each way. Second, No one actually spent $1500, blizzard got $2000 from token sales, but limit spent millions of gold on this that could not be converted legally into $1500 dollars. I suppose you could say limit payed ~1300 hearthstone packs to do this, since you can actually convert gold into those.

Edit: No one in limit actually spent $1500 is more correct, obviously some large collection of random wow players collectively spent $2000 dollars and sold their tokens to limit.

Thinking our instance of Blockade is bugged (on heroic at least). The adds on the last phase are teleporting halfway in between the boss and the person that should be spawning the add. We checked replays of other guilds and asked around and it's not happening to anyone else.

At least I got the G.M.O.D mount drop from Mekkatorque lmao. Best mount I have now
