Starbow is finally exiting the Beta stage of development and releasing Starbow Version 1.0 on EU, NA, and KR regions! What does Version 1.0 mean? It means Starbow will no longer experience large-scale design changes or unit roster updates. The development team will continue to introduce small balance tweaks or bug fixes through patches, but the core Starbow experience will remain the same for the foreseeable future to allow a competitive meta to develop. To commemorate the occasion, the Starbow development team is hosting a tournament worth $200 $250 in prize money!

(Wiki)Liquipedia Tournament Page

Date and Time:
Saturday, May 30 6:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)

Prize Money:
1st Place - $150
2nd Place - $75
3rd Place - $25

Sign-Ups:
Challonge!

RULES:
  • Player Maximum: A maximum of 32 players can sign up for the tournament. Should more than 32 players sign up, players 33+ will be put on a waiting list. These players should still show up for check-in to serve as potential replacements.

  • Tournament Format: Double Elimination. Winner’s Bracket series are BO3 series. Loser’s Bracket is BO1 until Loser’s Bracket Finals, which are BO3. Grand Finals are BO7 with the player coming from the Winner's Bracket starting with a 1-0 map advantage. In the loser's bracket the higher seeded player will choose the map after the lower seeded player vetoes a map. There will be no additional series if the Losers Bracket Winner is victorious over the Winners Bracket Winner in the Grand Finals.

  • Check In: Players will need to present themselves in the tournament chat channel by 8:00pm CEST (2:00pm EDT, 11:00am PDT). Players will be given no more than 10 minutes to arrive before they are disqualified.

  • Chat Channel: ‘ sbow1 ’ on EU Server. This is where results will be reported to the Event Administrator.

  • Server: In all inter-server matches, EU will be the default server. Home server will be default for all intra-server matches. Players may play on a different server than the default server ONLY if both players agree.

  • Race Switching: Allowed between matches, NOT between maps.

  • Game Invites: Only players and casters will be invited to casted games, no extraneous observers. If players choose to invite observers to non-casted games they are welcome to. Once you have finished a match, please wait for the casted match of the current round to finish before beginning your next match OR get permission to begin from the event admin in the chat channel. We would like to be able to show a variety of players, not follow the same player through the bracket. Also, depending on volunteer availability, the casters may need to be acting as administrators and we want to always have a match to present on stream.

  • Vetoes: Each player will be able to veto one (1) map per match. The higher seeded player will veto first.

  • Maps:
    • Blue Storm
    • Circuit Breaker
    • Fighting Spirit
    • Grand Line
    • Match Point 2.0
    • Neo DeserTec
    • Neo Destination
    • Ride of Valkyries
    • Texas 3.0

      Starting Maps:
      • Winners Round 1: Circuit Breaker
      • Winners Round 2: Fighting Spirit
      • Winners Round 3: Grand Line
      • Winners Round 4: Match Point 2.0
      • Winners Bracket Final: Circuit Breaker
      • Losers Bracket Final: Circuit Breaker
      • Grand Finals: Fighting Spirit

Haven't played much Starbow but I've been a fan. I've always believed that the community should make their own version of Starcraft to no longer rely on Blizzard for everything. I hope Starbow shows more success in the future.

So hyped! Hopefully Starbow can sustain a solid playerbase, because I'm much more interested in playing Starbow than LOTV.

Race Switching: Allowed between matches, NOT between maps.

Random not allowed ? too sad
The rest is a good news.

OP updated with starting maps and clear instructions for the loser's bracket map selection process.

- In the loser's bracket the higher seeded player will choose the map after the lower seeded player vetoes a map.

- There will be no additional series if the Losers Bracket Winner is victorious over the Winners Bracket Winner in the Grand Finals. Instead the Grand Finals is a BO5 BO7 with the player coming from the Winners Bracket up 1-0 to begin the series.

Adjustment has been made to the Finals. Instead of a straight BO5 Grand Finals, the Finals will be a BO7 with the player coming from the Winner's Bracket holding a 1-0 map advantage to begin the series.

Also, even though there are already 32 signed up you can still sign up as an alternate in case there are no-shows. (there always are). Just sign up at http://challonge.com/sbowrelease then join chat channel sbow1 on EU server at 8:00pm CEST.

This is a great initiative! Though I still can't get used to the SC2 versions of BW units :D

They look really strange to me.
