It also doesn't account for the possibility of fighting more than one. If two of them can flank you, you're probably just all fucked. | ||

It would not surprise me for a "DO NOT FIGHT THESE" encounter of your level to have access to powers equivalent to 4th or 5th level magic. EDIT: Also, the lowest level spell that can break non-invisibility illusions is Dispel Magic. So in-character you'd know that they have magical ability at least equivalent to 3rd level magic, and are hoping to god it's not 6th level magic (True Seeing--which is the next higher spell that can break non-invisibility illusions). Out of character, you know it's probably not True Seeing since Amak'thos had to fail a check in order for the Librarian to figure out he was a phony rather than seeing through it instantly. But nobody would know that in character, so nothing your characters know would allow you to rule out the possibility of them having power equivalent to 6th level magic. | ||
