Thank you Naniwa. You took a spot from a good willing player to throw it because you have mental issues.

Such a shame, such a waste of a slot that so many fought hard in Open Bracket.
What a disgrace to Esports.

What a memorable ending, it was the perfect way to sum up tale.

A really fitting ending for such a player.

This thread might become the biggest train wreck on TL.

I'm sad Naniwa decided to end his career the way he did. But it's his choice. One of the biggest names in sc2 gone now.

Actually, this time around, it was well deserved. He basically wasted the slot he got in the tournament.
I can't hear you over the sound of the storm.

Please don't derail this into a shit-on-Naniwa thread, this thread is OP's and it's about OP's experiences and feelings =/ Be nice.

It's not an ending, I'm sure he'll come back again and do reasonably well in another foreign weekend tournament with a few new all ins, before the cycle repeats.

You guys can stare yourselves blind on this particular event all you want. Of course he shouldn't have forfeit his games, everyone knows that. But I doubt he came to this tournament to win it, probably just show some fun games (which he failed in doing) and have a good time with friends.

But I can't understand that you're forgetting that no other foreigner has done as much for Starcraft as NaNiwa has. He's the best one we've had, and this whole thing is unfortunate, but I can't see how people can get so blind by this thing.

Oh well
Information is everything

You shall be sad that he didn't finish himself earlier than Round of 16.
No sportsmanship, that's not only hurting those who didn't get in the top 16, but also hurt fans, hurt IEM, and hurt Starcraft in general.

He is worse than Idra, period!

It's prolly good for him to quit for a while.
it's sad that he decided to forfeit but hey...
i guess he kinda deserved the booing, these people paid to see matches, player has to deliver.

Meh. All i remember of naniwa is bm, excuses(ALWAYS tweeting about his mouse/keyboard not working when he loses), hard work, and talent. It's a shame that all that hard work/talent went into somebody with a persona(i think this is the right word?) like him instead of somebody who could carry it better

On the other hand, i recall him saying his parents disowned him when he decided pursuing gaming. Is this true? If yes then i wonder what he will do now, with no life skills and not being able to return to his parents.

I hope shares with us how much EG paid him to go out with the biggest drama factor ever.

I'm not saying they wanted him to forfeit a game he could win, but I'm sure they
a) urged him to go to the tourney instead of retiring beforehand
b) urged him to go out with a bang

They paid IdrA to be a drama-factory for years, so naturally that works for Naniwa as well.

Maybe he's not a good player(for now), but he's always a man with great charisma. Happy bithday Nani, and wish you all good luck.
