However, this was completely the wrong way to handle this. As you said, if JP had a problem he should've come to you and talked it through first. To just lash out like that, then kick you off / shut down the show comes across as very immature. Certainly not impressed with the way it was handled. Hopefully calmer heads prevail, but I think this has done a lot of damage to the perception of JP / the show... Take it easy, G. | ||

That being said, it was absolutely too much of a knee-jerk reaction, and the correct move was to stop for a few minutes, and come back to talk about it later. There's a difference between being kind of a dick in character, and singling people out regardless of character. With Vincent, it could seem to be in character, but to carry that attitude over to the new game was hard to argue it was in character. I suggest you both take some time off and go back later, and talk it over with each other individually after you sleep, or talk it over with Gen. TL;DR: JP was wrong to rage kick so quickly without talking it over, but you were wrong to be repeatedly mean to Gen in the same way every week. You both need to take time off and talk it over. | ||

Am I the only one that finds it... odd that this is all down to overreacting on a roleplaying game show? EDIT: I'd also like to point out that everyone on the show has been mean to Gen at one point or another, cept maybe Ryan? And everyone gets exasperated with her. She's clearly not an easy person to do this kind of thing with. This isn't said to excuse that she's abused, it's to say that everyone on that show has acted in an unprofessional and borderline mean way to her in the past. If it's been missed by any of the rest of the cast and this is the first time it's been brought up then that's a failure on the part of the entire cast (including Gen). Exploding like this randomly is silly by Geoff and JP. Geoff is right in that you don't just explode. JP is right in that you're not overly a douche. But it was handled fucking abysmally. | ||

Anyway - yes, Vincent was a d*ck to Abigail most of the series and at times it was *really* hard to distinguish Vincent being agressive to Abi and Geoff beinc agressive to Gen. It was over time I realised it was Vinc, but still it was noticable and brough up (somtimes) in discussion between fans of Rollplay DnD. The difference between You and JP is that with JP he convays it that its obviously non serious, but your characters tended to be serios guys. I hope this gets settled. Its not like the first time humans got into a conflict and I personally see you guys getting along again and continuing RP:Solumn with Victarian *and* Alice in the same group. Cheers! | ||

My opinion, as a fan who has watched every episode of Rollplay, is that you sleep on it or take the week and as you suggested that JP sit down and talk with you about what is and isn't acceptable as other shows he Rollplays on (R&D) have definite worse in character behavior. I think JP overreacted, especially since he did not give you an opportunity to explain, but its his show and if he wants those sort of rules he can have them as long as he is clear what they are. You guys need to set firmer ground rules for playing it seems, but I hope you can continue with what is my favorite show in esports (ha) right now. | ||

That addressing the roleplay aspect, on the flip side those phrases are really just being dismissive of Gen's point of view and to say that your idea is better. Especially because these happen frequently or almost exclusively with Gen as well, it is as if you're attacking her or (if accepting roleplay) her character. Even if it's not about personal attacks against Gen, personal attacks against her character are not conducive to good roleplay dynamics either. If you are going to roleplay a mean or aggressive character, it still has to function within the group in some way that represent a respect for those that you travel with. TL;DR; No one wants to travel with a "whiney bitch" (Not as mean as it sounds) | ||

Now I'm sitting here, the clock hit 5am already and a part of me still hopes this is an incredibly bad joke. I'm sure this wasn't handled the best way and I hope you guys can sleep a night about it and have a talk tomorrow to clear this situation up. You, JP, Gen, Neal and Ryan have created something from nothing. Something thousands of people don't want to miss anymore. Sure it'd end some day, many people thought the end of Rollplay D&D was the end of it, but that ending at least was an ending worth living through. What happened today is just not worth to be the end of something that amazing. If it ends up to be the end of the groups D&D journey, then it has to be that way. Most people have faults when rping. Some people are to passive, some people take too much time, some people are too focused ton details, some people cant help to metagame all the time. Some people cant abide to be weak, some people cant abide to work with the other character 100%.. rule lawers.. i could go on for a while. Part of what make a good rping group is accepting other peoples bad habbits and have a good time anyway. You have a good group, HAVE, no HAD. Work it out, i have been playing DnD or VtM and other games.. Every Friday, for the past.. 15 years. it IS worth it to to at least try. | ||

First off for JP to COMPLETELY 100% remove you from the show is a dumb idea. The show won't be the same if you're not there Geoff and I know for a fact that thousands, literally, will not be watching if you're not part of it. I could understand taking you off it for the time being or canceling the show to work shit out, but completely removing you is downright wrong. Second, both Geoff and JP are in the wrong in many ways here. First JP should not have said when he ended the stream "I had to kick Geoff the show". He should have ended it saying that there was some technical difficulty or something other then "I had to kick Geoff off the show". Thats just asking for drama. Geoff, as much as I understand how you think posting this thread is going to help people understand or help you vent your feelings this whole thread is a bad idea. This thread is just inviting people to hate on JP or bitch about something. Its just going to fuel the fire. JP definitely should have brought the whole bullying thing up before just kicking you off. JP should have asked Gen if she felt as if she was being attacked by Geoff and then let Gen and Geoff work it out. If JP felt like he was being attacked HE should have brought it up with Geoff, just like Geoff said in his post. But the bottom line is this post is a very bad idea and is not going to help anything calm down. This whole thing is incredibly blown out of proportion and I think that both JP and Geoff handled things poorly. There are many more reasons that I have that I could use as support for my argument, but these are the main things that I think are the most important. This show is literally thousands of peoples favorite shows on twitch and if it ends just because of a stupid fight would be very disappointing. What would be even more sad is if a good friendship like Geoffs and JP's, a friendship that brings thousands of people enjoyment and laughter, ended over such a dumb fight. | ||

Alright well I am not even sure if you are going to read this and you probably won't, but I have so advice about these types of fights. First I get you are hurt and you have a right to be because you were misunderstood. However, do not say much more while you are hurt it will only make everything worse. Take some time and think then go and talk it out. I would mainly suggest you go and try to make amends because no one wants to lose a friend. JP is only trying to stand up for Gen and you need to explain it was not meant that way, and then prove it. Change Victarian right now to a true Chaotic Good or Neutral Good character. Play him as someone awesome and does Badass shit, but is kind to his friends and does not kill hostages etc. That way you are nice to Gen and everyone else and still the amazing Vincent like character we all know and love. Best of Luck and I hope you can work this out without losing friends. | ||

You have a very dominating personality and occasionally it causes you to act like a dick to more submissive types of people. There have been at least half dozen cases during RP that you've said something outright dick-like to Gen, making both her and some of your viewers noticeably uncomfortable. You can generally tell when someone feels uncomfortable about the way you've talked to them because they don't laugh and just go silent and pretend to ignore what you said. There came a point end of last year when JP had a small outburst and told you to shut the fuck up because you kept talking over Gen and talking down to her. I too felt defensive over Gen, because I felt like you were being a dick to her (not in a funny way) and were making her feel like shit, and was glad JP said something to call you out on it. Gen is very good at shrugging shit off. JP on the other hand, like me, bottles things up and this results in outbursts like this. JP wants you to realise that your dominating personality causes you to be a dick sometimes, acknowledge this, and apologise to Gen. Of all things, I am surprised that you didn't notice that sometimes you "go too far" and are just a downright dick by accident. I'm pretty sure I notice you purposefully try to "reel it in" or hold your tongue because you notice that you're going too far with asserting yourself over other people. I fully expected you to feel that your comment "Nobody likes a whiney bitch." was too much, and that you would tactfully apologise to Gen during (or before) the break in the show. Regards | ||

Sarcastic banter that has a bit of an edge can be fun if it's between friends and there's some back and forth, but between you and Gen it's all one-sided and feels much more uncomfortable than fun as a viewer. Anyways, I hope cooler heads prevail, and you and JP can patch things up, because the rest of the time you guys make for a great show. | ||

What you have listed as JP's chat log is him warning you not to do it again or else you get kicked off the show. You became emotionally outraged that your behavior all along has been 'unacceptable' to JP and he is just now mentioning it. So you became defensive and tried to shift blame onto JP. Maybe this caused JP to take further action or what not, I am unsure. However, I do not see a text message from JP saying 'You're off the show' just his 'tone it down' (paraphrase) At this point though, creating a post on teamliquid and publicizing the behind the scenes aspect in a drama centric way is very very childish. I would be shocked if he would let you back on the show after making a sensational post in an attempt to draw support before JP even explains the situation to anyone.
