bLAN 2014 will be held from 14th to 17th of February. It’s a small and traditional Norwegian LAN that takes place in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, at the West coast of Norway. This time they’ll be expanding to 275 seats, as well as putting up a StarCraft II prize pool with about 6 500 USD in it.
eSports:
In terms of eSports, bLAN is really stepping up their game this year. They will, among other things, put up the biggest prize pool for a StarCraft II tournament in Norway since The Gathering 2012. They’re hoping that the Norwegian elite and the SC2 community in general will support them and participate. Eight professional players from all over Europe will be invited as well. This way they’re trying to put together the first high level tournament Norway has seen a in a long time.

Gamerlounge:
As an event that has it's main focus on eSports, the participants needs is bLANs top priority. Every gamer has the need for a calm and silent environment, which bLAN is offering in terms of a separate area on the 2nd floor called Gamerlounge. Gamerlounge is reserved and dedicated to professional gamers. This way they’re able to host professional tournaments under good conditions, while still maintaining the traditional LAN feeling.

Location/transportation
The event is located in the middle of nowhere on the West coast of Norway, but that's part of its charm. It's still easy to get there from pretty much anywhere in Norway, and even Europe. There is an airport not far from the event location, making it a lot easier to get there if you’re travelling from outside the country. Please check our website or contact us by mail for travel assistance.
About the tournament:
General:
The StarCraft II tournament is scheduled to start at Friday, Feb 14 8:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00). Please note that this could become a subject for change if the state of affairs gives no choice.
Prize pool:
1st Place: ~3200 USD
2th Place: ~1600 USD
3rd Place: ~800 USD
4-8th Place: ~160 USD
Format:
The tournament starts with group play in GSL format.
Round one: 8 groups of four, two advances to Round 2
Round two: 4 groups of four, two advances to Final playoffs
Round three: Final playoffs, RO8 Double elimination.
