I assume neither Trump his entourage or his base are smart enough to realize he is playing right in the hands of both Kim and Maduro.
Kim needs Eurasia's imminent threat of nuclear war and siege mentality to maintain his iron grip on the NK society. Maduro needs the evil american empire to make all opposition treators and puppets of the big satan. Those narrative are their number one strength.
Kim has built this state of emergency and siege mentality alone by threatening nuclear war since he took power, making him look like a lunatic to everyone outside NK, and of course no one has been stupid enough to answer him in the same terms. Until Trump.
I open the newspaper everyday wondering how someone so dumb has been elected POTUS and is still supported by a large segment of the people after six months of blunders, incompetence, douchebagery and sheer stupidity. There is something rotten beyond anything one could imagine within american society.

I think the notion that you can equate Hillary and Trump on N Korea is far fetched. Hillary was SecState and would have a State Department; she wouldn't be using outlandish language; and of course would not be pushing for war with N Korea. She's not an evil maniac who wants to destroy Seoul. All of our best Starcraft streams would be gone.

He has no Seoul.

I have faith that Hillary wouldn't conduct nuclear diplomacy via tweet though.

The idea that you need 'faith' in Hillary to believe she would have not casually threatened nuclear war over twitter is.. sad.
|
I agree. With all the experience that Hillary had in the political world, every day makes it more and more obvious that she was far better equipped for being president than Trump was.
|
Hillary was far from perfect but she is a supremely intelligent and very rational person who would have been surounded by highly qualified people. The problem with Trump is not that he wants a nuclear war, nobody does, but that he is an incompetent idiot surrounded by incompetent idiots, that he governs with his huge and fragile ego, has no understanding nor will to understand basically anything and think that showing you have a big dick is all there is to foreign policy.
Which makes him a million times more dangerous than any rational hawkish politician I can think of in today's american politics.

Thousands of people are expected to arrive in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday to participate in, or protest against, a white nationalist rally called to oppose plans to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a city park.
The "Unite the Right" rally is expected to draw a lot of people from out of town. It follows last month's Ku Klux Klan rally that drew about 50 Klan members and about 1,000 counterprotesters.
For those who live around the University of Virginia, this is not expected to be a quiet weekend.
In a Facebook post, Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer wrote, "I am beyond disgusted by this unsanctioned and despicable display of visual intimidation on a college campus."
In the days leading up to the rally, there had been some back-and-forth about where it would be held.
The Associated Press reports that a federal judge has ordered Charlottesville to allow the rally to take place at its originally planned location downtown:
"U.S. District Judge Glen Conrad issued a preliminary injunction Friday in a lawsuit filed against Charlottesville by right-wing blogger Jason Kessler. "The city announced earlier this week that the rally must be moved out of Emancipation Park to a larger one, citing safety reasons. "Kessler sued, saying the change was a free speech violation. The judge wrote that Kessler was likely to prevail and granted the injunction." Source
Forget google dude. This is some shit that needs talking about.

Trump is so impulsive that it's really a moot point to ask what he 'wants', if he kicks off a war with NK it's probably going to be the result of mutual escalation where neither NK or Trump intended for it to happen. Trump is a lose cannon, he seems fundamentally unable to plan what he says or does.

I don't see what there is to talk about there. what's there to say/discuss/assess? not that the google dude needs talking about either, as it's already been solved and analyzed.

Not even getting into the race issue, this is the largest rally of white supremacist in 30 years, for Virginia. This is on a campus with 17-23 year old students standing against them. This was a precursor to today's planned rally, where 2k-6k racist members could show up today. To protest the removal of a statue. The police haven't moved and inch. The mayor hasn't said a word.
But you're right. Moving on. Let's get back to google dude.

The willingness to use Trump to whitewash Hillary and her supreme incompetence is deplorable. There is a damn good reason this was even a competitive election, and it's not because all Trump voters are idiots and all non-Hillary voters are traitors to the party.
She would have bungled things just as well, just a wee bit more subtly. It would look more like strategic mistakes than Twitter rants but the result would be all the same. Let's not forget she is terrible.

Absurd argument. She was SecState, would have a state department, and she would not be threatening nuclear war. There's a huge gap between the two, not a subtle one.

The usually quiet university city of Charlottesville, Virginia, declared a state of emergency Saturday morning after a Unite the Right gathering of far-right extremists began with early, violent clashes with counterprotesters.
The state of Virginia followed suit shortly after, declaring the gathering to be unlawful and ordering both rallygoers and counterprotesters to "disperse immediately."
Sooo these alt right protesters brought guns and shields. The funny thing is, they're for "MAGA" but bought a ton of shit from Walmart that is made in China... The hypocrisy is real.

What's being missed, is that they are walking around with assault weapons and torches. If this isn't Donald's "Good ole days" come to life, I don't know what is.
