The key lesson here is that Trump was right to never email. I have seen no evidence Trump can type on a computer and no one has ever seen him with a computer on the desk. I have never seen evidence that he has ever sent even a single email. He always does his meetings in person if possible and recently stopped having someone record notes of these meetings.

"Well, so the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians but you know what, that is not even a crime. You know what is a crime? Children sex trafficking. Which Hillary Clinton did from a pizza shack's basement. Why is no one looking into that?"

This is actually already happening in Conservative media outlets. First was that collusion is not a crime then started mentioning mental illness is not a serious threat to the presidency.
Makes one wonder if events are already in motion.

What a clown show Trey Gowdy et al will prove themselves to be if they don't go full inquisition mode.

Is there a timeline somewhere how exactly this unfolded?

On July 12 2017 01:25 Velr wrote: Is there a timeline somewhere how exactly this unfolded?
The more important timeline is that Trump effectively locked up the Republican nomination on June 7, Trump Jr's meeting was on June 9, Trump tweeted about Hillary's emails on June 9, then Assange promised emails, then team Trump changed the RNC platform to remove lethal assistance to Ukraine, then Assange released the emails. All within the span of a month and a half ("later in the summer" according to Trump Jr).

Yeah, i think i kinda have the things together. But how this is unfolding is so hilarious.

Just wait till someone compiles all the statements which are shown to be blatant lies in retrospect. Already seeing some on twitter.

Predicted reactions: McCain : I'm deeply troubled by this news, but will vote with the president 100% of the time. Ryan : I've never heard of this... Russia, nor have any of my colleagues in the house. McConnell- performs some ninja trick and hides in the shadows Gowdy : The true crime is Benghazi! Or her emails!
I do have to wonder if this is going to have any effect on healthcare reform efforts.

See, here's the thing.
You're not wrong for criticizing Democrats.
You're wrong for not having any consideration beyond "get rid of the Democrats", and any attempts at discussing political nuance with you ultimately comes down to you saying democrats aren't trying hard enough, and they could fix everything by not being democrats.

I agree with GH though. They could fix everything by not being Democrats. They are trying to play the high road and have been shown by the republicans that all that matters is winning. The landscape of politics has changed too fast for the democrats in my opinion and they seem to be wrestling on how best to catch up or even the playing field. I think, and this is me, they need to change their entire party structure and change leaders, especially in congress. the DNC is just a clusterfuck, so bail on that for now. Get popular democrats in positions of power and change the narrative as quickly as possibly. Stop blaming republicans for everything and offer an alternative.

So what's the 4D chess strategy behind this? Bypassing the "dishonest fake news lying media" to be transparent? Being the fall guy for the entire family? Just plain stupidity?

Yes, but we need to live reality. There has been a version of the Democratic party for as long as our nation itself and has been on every side of history. Good and bad. If being on the losing side of the civil war didn’t purge it from politics, I doubt this will. Ditching/ending “party” is pure cosmetics, the people will still exist in politics in some way. If people want to change things, they need to do it from within one of the existing parties or create a viable third party through local elections. Both of those are very hard to do.

NYT had the email and they said they would release it.

Being the fall guy doesn't work when multiple high profile people you would be trying to protect were in the same meeting.
