I've had lots of opportunity. I'm just amused that oneofthem hates him so much he's posting from the National Enquirer, lol.
Moreover, I'm fascinated by this "he just looks slimy" thing that people say. It's kind of odd. There's no reason to believe this, but people are some people are inclined to it. It's interesting.

Well that's not entirely true...
It’s hard to look at Ted Cruz’s face. He’s said to be a brilliant orator with a sharp legal mind. But his expression unsettles me. I understand that my reaction is visceral and automatic, but as a neurologist it is my business to notice things out of the ordinary and probe them. The Senator’s atypical expressions leave me uneasy.
It's remarkable how many colleagues and former associates say that they "loathe" Cruz. A Bush alumnus told The New York Times' Frank Bruni, “Why do people take such an instant dislike to Ted Cruz? It just saves time.” Former Senate Majority leader Bob Dole says, "Nobody likes him," while Rep. Peter King sees "malice" behind his visage. According to The Washington Post, screenwriter Craig Mazin, Cruz's former Princeton roommate, calls him a "huge asshole," and "creepy." He's Tweeted, "Getting emails blaming me for not smothering Ted Cruz in his sleep in 1988." The distaste for Cruz extends well beyond the US: Germans say Backpfeifengesicht, meaning a face in need of a good punch.

I read the same article months ago. I find it fascinating because I don't share that opinion. In fact, I didn't think that about anyone running for office. But then again, perhaps I'm not looking at people and actively judging how punchable they are.

I've learned that to judge Republican candidates, you are better off judging how they come off on a very visceral level than on how well their policies work. It's a pretty accurate depiction of how their base actually makes voting decisions, to a large extent.

On the subject of Cruz and rumors, I heard on a podcast or something that he owed thousands of dollars to some people at Princeton in poker debts and instead of paying them he reported them all to the IRS. ne doesnt mean fake. they are reliable when it comes to politicians. edwards for example oif they run a fake story they'll get sued.
we'll see lol seems like it is blowing up right now

He's jowly, which to Americans immediately brings to mind Richard Nixon. But Nixon had bushy eyebrows that weren't too far above his eyes, and more importantly he knew how to smile (so much so that Nixon's smile is now associated as the portrait of dishonesty.) Cruz has sort of a constrained smile his official portrait, because his mouth seems to normally arch down in a frowny expression, and when he tries to force it upwards he usually looks like the most smug guy ever.
He doesn't have to look this way, he doesn't always look that way, but it's really common that he looks less normal and more smug. And smug is a problem, because his entire engagement with the voters is to chastise other candidates for not being Ted Cruz. Even when his opponent is tilting the right wing into a fascist party, Cruz still leans on the "Donald is not a true conservative" rhetoric that he would have used against Jeb Bush or Lindsay Graham in a less controversial election.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy if it turns out to be true.
Also Lindsey Graham was hilarious on the Daily Show. That was some good shit.

Lindsey is actually a surprisingly funny dude. Mika was going after him hard on Morning Joe yesterday for backing Ted after being so heavily critical of him.

Cruz out from a scandal would be absolutely hilarious. Just imagine the Trump tweets.

Trump can not exactly find room to talk (not that it's ever stopped him before.) He was having an affair with Marla Maples while still married to Ivana. There's no moral high ground here.

trump doesn't have to talk. twitter is already talking and you can't cover up a fire in this day and age.

Seems likely to me that Trump's previous attack on Heidi was aimed towards making Cruz make some 'I'm a family man' statement which now seems extremely hypocritical, basically making him dig his own hole.

(Assuming for the moment the Cruz affairs are real) On one hand it would totally fit in the image I have of his character and his sleezyness. But on the other hand most of his life seems to have been to shape a career politician. Surely keeping your dick in your pants would be a big part of that. Nothing can ruin careers like scandals.
Could cost him a fair few votes from the religious crowd (which was fairly strong for him?).

As Utah demonstrated Cruz' primary support is the most conservative wing of the religious right. If the scandal is true he's toast. He won't lose all of them, some will circle the wagons because it's obvious lies told by the media to stop God from reclaiming the country, but most will abandon him.

Ah, a Cruz sex scandal, just what we needed to spice this up even a little more
also to me Cruz always looks somewhat somber/sad, never happy even when he tries.

Didn't Cruz share the stage and shake hands with Kevin Swanson that homophobic lunatic? And if so why isn't people calling him out for it every time he makes an appearance.

Cruz fans have little to no problem with homophobia

And they will ask themselves why god let Obama ruin their country, turning Decent men like Cruz into adulterers.
