Imo, the more Bernie states that he is unashamed to be a democratic socialist, the less powerful the word "socialist" becomes as a derogatory statement. This is also contributed to by the fact that the right has been screaming about Obama being a socialist for the last 8 years. I'm not in a position to look for a source right now, but I'm fairly certain I've seen polls indicating that while Americans in general are scared by the term "socialist", the ideas Bernie presents are ones that many Americans agree with. As this exposure penetrates more of the American public, I feel that the negative stigma on "socialism" will decrease even more.

I have no idea what you think the term socialist means in common parlance but in America it's not a good thing. Jeb hasn't made any large moves and he's just hovering around the top of the polls. If anything being a frontrunner is bad until primary season rolls around and things start mattering. I don't know what poll numbers your looking at but if you are going to argue by them at least provide something that supports it. The last bush was able to get the Hispanic vote to some degree that's proof enough that he can get more then that when he has many advantages for it above his possible opponents. The black vote hasn't been considered in play by anyone so I don't get why people keep talking about it. Again, Hillary's poll numbers aren't "tanking". You're buying into the media narrative. The email scandal is very superficial and will only really matter if something serious actually comes up. All that's ever covered is the same, irrelevant crap. Also, we are not in the Cold War anymore. A large amount of Americans do not see "socialist" as a bad thing like the elderly do; more and more Americans equate "socialism" with "Nordic countries", where QoL is quite a bit better than in the U.S. It's also been 11 years since GWB got elected. Since then, Jeb now has to deal with the baggage of an increasingly conservative Republican party that has made a lot of horrible statements and moves against the Hispanic population as well as the legacy of his brother's horrible tenure as president. Speaking Spanish and being married to a Hispanic woman doesn't make up for that kind of stuff on its own.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/09/29/teamsters-withhold-hillary-clinton-endorsement-want-meet-donald-trump/ Teamsters Withhold Endorsement for Hillary Want to Meet With Donald Trump The Teamsters union is withholding an endorsement for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, further eroding Clinton’s support from Big Labor. The Teamsters union’s general executive board voted unanimously Tuesday, 26-0, to hold off on endorsing Clinton at its meeting in Charleston, South Carolina. Fox News reports that the vote was meant as “an intentional snub” of Clinton for backing away from her previous support for the job-creating Keystone pipeline. The union is holding off until union-friendly Vice President Joe Biden makes a decision about whether or not to run for president. The union also seeks a “sit down” meeting with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, whose recent tax reform proposal drastically lowers the corporate and individual tax rates for the middle class in an effort to spur job growth, savings, and investment. Clinton’s relationship with Big Labor has been rocky. Last month, the National Nurses Union endorsed Democratic challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) 16% over Clinton. AFL-CIO head Richard Trumpka threatened to sit out the 2016 election until Clinton backed away from her support of President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal, which unions strongly opposed.

Sean Hannity was pushing hard, asking House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to name some promises his Republicans had actually delivered on. He scoffed when McCarthy said the party would start undoing the Affordable Care Act -- "you have the power of the purse!" He talked over McCarthy when the leader and candidate for Speaker of the House suggested that the party did not need to cut funds for President Obama's "amnesty," because courts had taken care of it. Only halfway into the interview did McCarthy finally catch a break. "Everybody though Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?" McCarthy asked. "But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she's untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened, had we not fought." "I give you credit for that," said Hannity. "I'll give you credit where credit is due." Source Not only did the Repubicans invent the hatchet job, they took it a step further and created the tax-payer funded hatchet job.

+ Show Spoiler + yes yes, if the tax rate is prohibitively high then lowering it can create jobs. the US isn't even close to that sort of tax rate. If only billionaires could afford more yachts. Then everyone would have a job!

Otherwise known as seperation of church and state. And what do you want the White House to say? Its ok to ignore the law if you relate to an imaginary spaghetti monster? The rep's response was that everyone known how the President feels and that what the Pope does is the Pope's business. That is perfectly acceptable.
