For better or for worse things are changing around sc2 and how the teams/community functions compared to a year ago or even less than that. Oh well I'll always have the GSL/OSL/PL even if the foreign sc2 scene nukes itself into oblivion.

Destiny could easily have taken this to a thread discussion on words (as he as done in the past). Not all sponsors may react to the letters or notifications of offensive speech, but using such speech while representing yourself, your team and the sponsor in front of 5000+ viewers is an invitation for this kind of crap. I think on one hand, people need to relax and understand the kind of competitive emotion that may cause the occasional behavioral flair up. On the other vast majority of control is in the hand of the streamer, and you can't just do whatever you want if you also have money and contractual obligations attached to yourself. It kind of expected really. Get popular enough and that sort of "shock jock" type attitude will get you burned eventually. Not really surprising or worth getting riled up about. Destiny can still be Destiny if he wants, he just kind of can't expect sponsors to want to be associated with that sort of thing in this day and age. Maybe find a sponsor that doesn't mind that sort of attitude.

Doesn't mean that that language should be acceptable under TL rules. You might be mad this time, I might be mad the next time. Rules are still rules. Hell I've been banned for getting a little too heated before. The fact that Destiny's supporters are more likely to get angry doesn't make their offenses ok.

Im glad that at least a good amount of the community realized that and didn't rush to email Razer, and if you did I urge you to think about the big picture before you do something so rash. And if you think that the "big picture" doesn't matter then you actually are hurting eSports. If "racist and offensive" speech is bad for esports and Starcraft and thats why you did emailed Razer then you should be able to realize that destroying teams and chasing away sponsors is just as bad. People should have been mailing Quantic not Razer. And if the only reason you emailed anyone is because you wanted to join the mob and had nothing else to do then shame on you. We have to be a more intelligent community if we want Starcraft to go mainstream

Isn't it possible that at least some of these people find public use of racist language unacceptable? That said, it goes both ways. Just as sw ought not simply assume that those who are glad to see Quantic part ways with Destiny are power-tripping 'white knights' (whatever that is supposed to mean), we ought not assume that Destiny supporters are all 'immature' or 'racists' or 'KKK members.' Have a little charity in your interpretation of the opposition, people.

Come-on. How many potential sponsors have we lost with the racist remarks, compared to how many sponsors we've hurt and deterred through the lynching and weekly witch hunts. "We need to legitimize E-Sports and if that means getting rid of racist pigs, then so be it" No. That's not going to be the solution to anything at all. How many streamers who have a fan base and some type of affiliation to a team or organization are going to hide their real selves now in fear of a single slip up? CatZ and Minigun are two people who use moderately foul language, are you going to see them be themselves now? No. Do you want to kill personalities who have helped build this community to what it is today just because you feel the need to legitimize E-Sports? If you guys want this to get any bigger then it is, you have to get the fuck over what someone said when playing in a private game. You're not legitimizing anything. All you're doing is making SC2 look like a big joke where if someone says one bad thing then they're jumped on. I'd say that is doing the opposite, delegitimizing what we built up. Like I said, this vile, disgusting and hypocritical community is going to be the downfall of such an entertaining, relaxing, tense and beautiful sport. Give yourselves a pat on the back for killing the people who helped builds this to what it is today.

If doing a "good job" was having the potential for Razer to just stop sponsoring Starcraft 2 in general then awesome we should keep it up. People need to realize that literally the ONLY people affected by this was every player on Quantic BESIDES Destiny. As he said this doesn't affect him at all, ultimately he doesn't care that much. On the other hand Quantic had the potential to actually be destroyed as a team. We have to be a more intelligent community if we want Starcraft to go mainstream Kind of agree but I doubt Razer is going to pack their bags and leave over emails. Should definitely go to the teams first. But Razer does their research and I'm pretty sure they realize that more people are going to see the Razer logos while tuning into MLG than people who get angry on the internet.
