No, no - I'm serious here. Had no idea there was a player with that name to be honest. Maybe coz he hasn't won anything impressive or made a deep run in a popular tournament ? Could be. Had also no idea he had any connections with EG as well. AFAIK, EG is a professional team and that's not a very professional behavior. Both game-skill-wise and in-game-behavior-wise. Anyways, it's too much drama. He just need to be shot in the head and put out of his misery. Racism should've been long dead by now. User was warned for this post | ||

There was some swears in there, mostly used as exclamatory words, but I never called him a nigger OR a faggot, imagine that. Orb is held to a higher standard than other people, what he does while on stream is in no way shape or form his personal business (to a large extent, Twitch.tv owns that content and could shut him down at any point in time for any reason they choose), and his actions were in a public place. It's open to public scrutiny, and it's kind of shocking the number of people that came out in droves to defend the use of the word nigger in public places. I understand the point they're trying to make by doing so, but I find that point to be highly irregular. Erasing the word from language seems like a far more appropriate action than using it so often that it loses meaning amongst most people. I'd be much happier if someone said the word nigger in public and no one knew what they were talking about (and further not understand why someone would even go out of their way to make up a word like that), than if someone said nigger in public and everyone laughed at how silly it was. | ||

It's good to try and get a more model community to form by trying to fight against instances where deplorable behavior happens, but it's also bad to get overzealous and end up completely trashing the person involved without even giving them a potential second chance. In this case, it's good that the community is so indignant about orb's actions. His actions aren't what you want to portray to viewers; however, it's bad that the community, rather than giving the guy a potential second-shot to learn about how he screwed up and apply himself towards raging less, drags him through the mud and tries to destroy everything. If you give orb a second chance and he continues to act as such, then by all means, he's had his chance and the problem will get addressed, either through a diminished lack of viewers, getting fired, or other factors, but it's a matter of giving him that second chance so he can know what he did wrong, learn from it, and preferably reform his behavior, rather than having one major event just ruin everything. | ||
