Isn't there a really good Brazilian team (pain gaming or something like that) ?

A team that lost to GG.eu, who couldn't get a single W in a Bo9 against any 3rd tier European team.

Pain and Kabum are decent. They would place 3-6 in NA LCS.

Isn't Lyon Gaming from Mexico? That's not South America.

In defense of Kabum's 0-4 performance at WCG, their top laner got sick, and their coach had to sub in for him.

Oh now that you mention it, latin america refers to both north and south, the northern part is a lot better than the southern

I highly doubt that. I like what's going on in BR in terms of enthusiasm and viewership for tournaments and there is definitely a good environment for growth there, but none of the teams are LCS material yet.

Their international participations so far haven't been under the best circumstances but even so, losing to the likes of GG.eu (~20th in EU) and Rampage (a Japanese team that struggles with 3rd tier Taiwanese teams) is not excusable for teams that you say would be middle of the pack in LCS NA.

I was optimistic after the Brazilian regionals that BR was indeed that good already but after their best team couldn't win a bo3 against gg.eu I'm certain they aren't even good enough to qualify for NA LCS.

I was cheering for PaiN at the wildcard tournament, partially because of your posts about the Brazilian scene. It was sad to see them lose against a team shouldn't even have played at the tournament. Kami and the adc looked really good in most of the matches but the toplane was too heavy to carry.
Maybe they fixed the toplane but leaguepedia doesn't say so, so I expect them to get stomped by the EU and NA team. And to be fair, Kami would have a fighting chance against some NA mids, but he's going to face two European mids as TSM will win every vote they participate in.

Either EU sends Gambit again and we get TSM to qualify for Katowice (since Gambit already has a spot) or we send fnatic/EG and have another EU team qualify for IEM Finals

I remember someone telling me paiN is better than GG.EU but they just chocked in the qualifiers.

I hope Europe sends EG/Alternate. Sau Paulo is probaby going to be a stomp by the LCS team so hopefully we get an superb tournament at Katowice.
Go go Alliance.

Might be an EG announcement today, via Snoopey's twitter. Cant link it right now but he says something like "sorry for keeping you guys in the dark, should be an announcement today". Just hopefully it's not an announcement of an announcement.
