And now Koreans in Chinese teams will win + top Korean teams like All-Star Samsung will still be best, lol. If it happens, we, who watch LPL, finally have opportunity to lose our hipster aura, because everyone will watch LPL instead of OGN D:

BURN DOWN EVERYTHING, I BLAME BLIZZARD AAAAH Jokes aside, there is no reason for KeSPA to make that decision to make exodus even bigger, they're too clever for it. Or we could see SEA/Korea/China merging in one region, if this decision was initiated by KeSPA. WE ARE A M E R I C A N S P O R T S B O Y S EASTERN AND WESTERN CONFERENCE. #rip SEA is already splitting into two regions next for S5.
I worded it bad probs. Basically, if decision about 1-team per org was initiated by KeSPA, we could just see whole Asia in one region, tbh, because all mid-tier Koreans will just run to China/SEA.

the saddest part of this is that after all the success bullets and arrows have had, even when they combine rosters KT Rolster is still going to suck.

Could it be possible that Kespa has no money anymore? Hm

Maybe now KT won't pay their players like shit so they leave to China once they have bargaining power.

Tbh, KaKAO and Rookie have already won OGN and only watch can qualify from Korea multiple years in a row, so, why can't you just follow inSec and Zero in their endeavours when they have one bo5 to reach Worlds finals, at least it seems reasonable for me.

I wonder if this means that the Korean scene has become big enough that here are tons of sponsors on the wing waiting to pick up at team, but don't want to jump in with unknown players. Attracting new sponsors and new teams could be what they are aiming for. However if there aren't any new sponsors waiting on the wings, then this could look really bad. On the plus side, SKT are going to have to pay Faker a shit ton of money to keep him now.

it is kind of exciting to see what kind of team SKT can put together and what will happen with pawn/dade.

Woongjin and STX, ACE weren't really sponsored team.
Well, ofc, we can go back to MBC, Hite Sparkyz, WMF and Hwaseung days but meh. Incredible Miracle is main beneficiary of this though and probably, that's why Prime were saving glorious KTC moneys. #Byunissold.

BTW if you didn't see it already, then there's a random redditor's translation of a random post on some chinese forums that includes actual screencaps from WX stream.

Regarding SK and Alex... I'm willing to believe what he wrote in that Facebook post, that he had so much stress on his head that it was just impossible to keep his level and perhaps a stable environment would allow him to return at least to his level from before leaving GMB, or at least to be less of a burden than Jesiz :p And I wish I could enjoy the salt/hate/whateveryoucallit towards SK, but instead I'm just sad that people won't acknowledge that this team was 2nd-3rd best in EU entire season and there's no reason for it to decay in S5
|
But are there really sponsors lining up? Who could even potentially afford SSWhite/Blue? Hyundai? LG solo sponsorship? I mean I could see how Kespa would want to do 1 team per organization, but they would have to have a massive lineup of sponsors incoming.

I just have to ask, cause the most confusing part for me while reading all of this is: Have the viewership started going down for OGN? not sure if they publish stuff like that or not. That's the only reason I can think of why they would want to do this in the first place. Either it's Riot forcing OGN with the LCS format where winter isnt allowed to exist or they dont have enough income to sustain 3 Champion's per year.
It's even more confusing when it was only a year ago that they talked about getting a new stadium or whatever for esports... I'm gonna be incredibly sad if OGN Winter doesnt even happen and gonna be even more sad if they actually enforce that stupid rule.
|
Maybe they are scared that Samsung dominance will continue and would rather force them to at least split into two orgs (and perhaps weaken by forcing to split the coaching staff as well?)

League is on peak in Korea, it never was as high as it is now. I'm already getting nerd chills from imagining atmosphere at Worlds finals.
And in general, Nexon Arena is new for KeSPA, can't open everything in same time.

People who claim that Riot just don't want same country to dominant their leagues (basically, NFL-esque manipulation) are close to reality, i feel.

Aaaand the unique advantage of Korea is gone. I dont mind.
Will be a time of turmoil In Korea until things stabilize. But even after that they will still be in a much better position when it comes to sponsors etc than Europe for example.

Great to hear, atleast I dont have to worry about that then, with all these bad rumors i'm kinda feeling down in the dumps, but yeah for me personally that even more reinforces that this must be Riot's decision.

It's really fucking sad when Riot thinks that they're better than Korean infrastructure. #restinpeace Still have BW tho. Well and SC2 is in good shape. So, if having 2 teams per org was the sole reason why Korea was able to dominate, why do people even chear for them? Personally I doubt that, but the reactions to this show that almost everybody believes that Korea had a huge, decisive advantage over the other regions due to that special possibility. Why are they ok with that then, or even happy about it and want it to continue? I dont get it.
