Whole tournament for 2 extra spots fucked everything. Before that everything was fine you needed to risk a lot to get into LCS = spend half a year in NA/EU. Now you need to be top of Challenger to have a shot.
Also Riot responded to rumors (they didn't announce new rules with qualifiers), so everything would be fine.

Well maybe we will still see them in NA. They just cant go as an all Korean game, but 2 can always join a team. It all depends on their English skills or their willingness to improve it. If a korean trys hard and starts some crash course now he could be pretty good until the next season starts.

In any case I would be very surprised if we dont see more Koreans in NA and maybe EU next season.

It doesnt matter if Helios is excempt non-resident for this purpose.

And pretty sure Krepo is excempt non-resident as well, maybe he qualifies for getting the residency status though. Riot will publish soon their conditions for that, we dont know them yet. If both retain the excempt non-resident status and stay in the team, EG can not add any Koreans to for example replace Innox.

Regarding CLG, I was only talking about them being a candidate for adding Koreans in general, not any particular players. I dont see them as a Madlife candidate either.

Yeah EG might actually be the LCS team that gets hit by this the hardest because I am pretty sure they would love to replace Innox and top is probably the position with the most shallow talent pool in NA. Well and for LMQ it sucks as well if it is true that Ackerman wants to leave. Guess they need to chain him to his chair.

Looking at the Korean bootcamp ladder again, I decided to check how soloq teams were being, on average, by their players.

1. Fnatic: 49g/p
2. Cloud 9: 35g/p
3. Alliance: 23.8g/p
4. Solo Mid: 21.2g/p
5. SK Gaming: 20.4g/p
6. LMQ Tian Ci: N/A, in China

C9 and Fnatic have been in Korea the longest, so the fact that they're the top 2 active in soloque isn't that big of a surprise, but the gap between them is massive. If you paired up any of 3-5 with each other, they still wouldn't reach Fnatic's soloq presence. This leads me to believe that Fnatic is having issues finding scrim partners as opposed to C9.

The gap between 1 & 2 is almost as large as 2 to 3 & 4. Some of this can be attributed to later arrival, but since it's TSM and Alliance, I'm going to guess they aren't having a hard time finding scrim partners due to being #1 seeds, Koren respect for Froggen, and Loco/Lustboy having connections with the scene. For outside influence on this supposition, SK has almost as many games in as Alliance/TSM, yet they arrived latter(last.)

A lot of this is on Rekkles and xPeke, and Rekkles is a soloq monster, so they might simply be grinding it at expense of sleep and free time. Again going back to SI with nRated - Monte advised that since Koreans will decide whether you are worth scrimming with based on first two games, then perhaps you shouldn't go into those scrims right away but deal with jetlag and warmup a bit for few days. Also, western teams might be scriming each other but avoiding Fnatic due to their reputation.
Americans don't like to use unblockables, it is considered not honest. You press a button at the wrong time and hit the other person, you are random, not a top player. You DP Sim's far fierce, it is random and not honest.

Wouldn't be surprised if some teams have trouble finding scrimpartners, apart from Samsung and Najin everyone is on break at least for half another week according to Susie and I mean there are 5 western teams bootcamping...

C9/Alliance arrived at the same time. Diffrent is that Alliance was scrimming first day/C9 wasn't. Also Tabzz didn't play much soloq.
