Dear noobs,
It dawned on me today (actually it's dawned on me before) that the reason so many threads get derailed for these plain and overdone topics is because you don't have a real outlet for these feelings. I don't know how well this thread will be received, but consider it a genuine gesture toward what has become a sociological problem on TL.
In this thread:
- Talk about what BW pros you think should move to SC2 or whatever.
- Talk about if you think BW is dying or whatever.
- Talk about if you think SC2 is a better game or whatever.
- Argue endlessly with hordes of noobs who are talking about the above.
Seriously. Go ahead. I'm not proving a special point here, I just want this to be the megathread so that other threads can be kept cleaner. I don't want to go checking for what the BW pros are up to at Blizzcon and find 60 pages of people arguing about SC2. It is putting the threads way off topic and maybe mods are scared to ban you because you don't have a special place to talk about it yet. Well here it is. Go ahead. Is Flash moving to SC2? Would he dominate it? No, he's not. Yes, he would. Those are the answers but you can argue about it for 20 pages if you like. I'm sure it'll be really interesting and a fulfilling use of your time. Do it. Just keep that trash out of every other thread on TL, cause I'm not the only one who's tired of it.

Well I'm pro-bw, and let's lay out the reasons I think this is so:
1. bw is just a better game.
2. bw is a better spectator sport - if you have watched both, you know this is true. Disagree?, then you are a small exception.
Now should the bw pros move? no.
because bw is a better game. BW is still more popular in korea, all the S-ranked players are making lots of money. Until these things change, there's no reason for them to move.

I primarily watch SC2 but I think that R1CH should setup a bot in the BW section that automatically bans anyone with the words "Starcraft 2" or "SC2" in their posts.
That would be the end of 99% of stupid stupid arguments in this forum.

Here is the reason I would be happy if bw pros stayed playing bw for ever. As of right now SC2 cannot be as entertaining as bw due to the extreme damage output of the armies and because of how necessary it is to keep the "death ball" together. So would I want the most skilled players switching to a game that wouldn't be as entertaining no matter how long they played? No! I want my entertainmen! So that mean I want bw pros to keep playing bw.

You're completely wrong. The real reason we can't have good things is that they took out patrol micro.

I don't agree with this thread. I think people should just be banned straight up if they try to troll the other BW treads and what not with their Sc2 Rhetoric. I think the Mods should start using their powers to start cleaning up the mess that is around the BW threads. Also to keep BW threads STRICTLY Broodwar only.

I dunno about this. I don't think the solution to all these BW vs SC2 threads is yet another BW vs SC2 thread. A lot of people derail threads not because of a lack of an outlet but because they simply enjoy derailing threads.

The skill level of BW commands my respect more so than the skill level in SC2 does. Simple as that. I find BW more entertaining for this reason and because the game has character which gives it staying power. Does this mean I hate SC2 and want it to die? No. It's doing very well here in North America as an e-sport and I hope it keeps it up.
If there was a gun to my head yeah I would pick BW but I see no reason why both can't thrive.

Hi. I play SC2. I watch SC2. I also quietly watch bw.
I would be very interested if some bw pros transferred to SC2. but I don't want that. I would prefer to have two starcrafts which are both great for different reasons than have one.
I'm also embarrassed every time someone says something stupid about bw dying et cetera. Sorry for them :<

Why doesnt anyone discuss the possibility of SCII-players going back to BW?
I think that this will be a reality. BW is a much better game, and if you are not playing professionally there´s no reason to play it at all. I understand that everyone wants to try their luck at the game that can give you actual fame and fortune, but i think that players eventually will come back and play casual BW just like the old days once the hype is over/they go on a tilt.
My favorite players of all time (outside korea) is Ret, Mondragon, Nony and Oystein. Ahzzz is pretty awesome as well. I hope they collect themselves and go back to the game they once loved.
Im not seeing mondy playing it since he pretty much went inactive before even SCII came out. Oystein? No idea, dont think that he plays any of the game. Same with ahzzz. Nony and ret is pretty much tied up in team liquid which is unfortunate.
But we have to give them time! Imagine this: Ret v. Pro7ect in ISL 3 finals. WOWOWOWOW. Its worth waiting for!

Chef there's something seriously wrong with you bro. Can't you just be happy with BW and the BW community?
Example: I think SF3 is a way better game than SF4. But I don't jump into the SF4 thread on TL or bring up SF3 vs SF4 discussions whenever I can. I still enjoy SF3, I still play SF3 and I still watch Youtube vids on TheShend. Just do you. Play and love BW. That's it.
