Post any help you need, and since I'm guessing the majority of TL users are in college/been through college, legit help can be given (; Anyways, here is my question find the range of f(x) = 3x^2 + 2 if the domain is limited to {-4, -2, 2, 4} I don't know where to start here. All I know is the range has to be above 2 because of the "+2" in the equation. I'm guessing you're going to have to find x, square it, and multiply by 2. Which I don't know how to do. | ||

for example f(-4) = 3*(-4)^2 +2 = 50 your range in this case would be just four values (or less if they overlap) (I think it is just 2 as this is parabola) You can punch the above into excel or into a scientific calculator and it will pop out the answer if you aren't the strongest at order of operations. the domain of f(x)=x^2 is all value greater then or equal to zero. the domain of f(x)=x^2 for -2<=x<=2 is all values between zero and 4. however since your have only four discrete domain values, your range is four or less discreet values.
