ok did anyone try listening to the last sound thing in reverse???? i did and you can clearly here someone talking but i think ever there is to much echo or its in a foreign language but i can defiantly make out someone saying
"Like this world has never seen before, this person is attempting to become and evil geniuses"
I can hear (or at least think i can here) some other words/sentences before that but can't make out a long string, words/sentences are;
regiment, "we know he is organized", (a voice like a marine possibly from Broodwar saying) "Yes Sir", also something about "henchmen", also i think i can hear it say "we know who he is" but im not that sure!
Also further through the clip the morse code is back im not sure if its the same as before but i think its about 4/5 characters (once translated) but even after anylising it im not going to post what i think it ses (because im pretty sure im wrong)
sorry if someone has all ready done this but i couldn't find it anywhere in this thread!

Good chance. I also expect there better damn well be a big announcement.

A professional gamer moving to a new team once his contract is up is not "selling out". The term "sellout" is used for artists who sacrifice their artistic integrity in order to appeal to larger audiences. Using it in this context is absolutely juvenile. And by "juvenile", I mean that you appear to be about 12 years old, and treat Team Liquid as some sort of league of superheroes, instead of the professional gaming team that it is. Very true statement. If, for example, Peyton Manning were traded/resigned to say the Dolphins for way more money (for god knows what reason), people wouldn't be like OMG what a sellout fuck him!!! They'd just see it as "Wow, sucks for the colts but good for him he's making way more money." To be fair colts fans may well call him a sellout
The real question is: Is it fair to judge a professional for changing teams for a greater opportunity? Come on, its a fact of life in sports, players just want the best for themselves and the fans will think what they want about it.
The manner in which they leave the team could very well be looked down upon however: think Lebron James and that whole Heat party as soon as he left the Cavs.
But if a player leaves respectfully and honorably I cant help but feel good about it. When a player is comfortable and where he wants to be, he performs his best IMO.

Well yeah they just put up a counter, then they just made a few cryptic tweets and then just made a few cryptic mp3s then just made them elaborately time released and they just...
I mean jesus christ how can anyone be so dense to think that this wasn't exactly what they were going for by doing a pseudo-ARG for an announcement. Any form of event advertising is there to get people to spread news about it via word of mouth and generate hype, this is just done reasonably well.
ARGs are not new, they're not really that clever, but they work very well and the idea that they didn't expect/hope for this sort of reaction is absurd. I know you probably think the TL community is a unique little snowflake that either took this way too far or made it greater than any other community, but it's just incredibly basic advertising psychology.

This kind of hype is incredibly effective until the announcement hits. If the community responds well, huge success at low cost. It can backfire horribly though. If everyone feels like they got jerked around for a nothing announcement it's terrible PR.
Exactly, if it turns out to be a giant anticlimax, their public image will suffer from this stunt.

I still think there's going to be some "EG also acquired Daigo" along with this.

Would it be selling out if you left a job as a low level lawyer to get a higher level job at another company that pays more If HuK does leave Liquid for EG be it for money or to live in a practice house in the states then he is not selling out he is switching teams. SC2 is Huk's career if he wants to move to EG for money reasons then it is a career move not him selling out. 100% agree. God forbid a pro gaming team actually pay players a competitive salary. That must be terrible for e-sports. Not hating on TL, but seriously think about it from HuK's shoes. If I had to choose between losing some fans, and gaining a huge salary increase, I know what I would choose, and I know what 90% of the people hating on this move would choose. The only reason he's actually in Code S is because he's on TL. I understand wanting to switch for money, but if the entire announcement is that huk is switching to EG, being booted from the oGs house and moving into an apartment on his own, I doubt it will benefit his SC2 results at all. Short term monetary gains in exchange for joining a mediocre team with no korean infrastructure that, in the long term, will result in him just becoming someone with idra-like results. Why exactly is it unfair to critizise him for that?
That depends on the difference in salaries.
If he is gatting say 20k a year at liquid with a chance at GSL every month lets syay he always gets top 16. thats about 38k a year. If EG offers him 50 or 60k a year then it is not a short term gain it is a long term gain. That doesn't include extra stream money he would get if he moved back to NA and streamed during prime hours instead of koreans hours, the ability to play NASL, as well as many weekly online cups.

Understandable given how incredibly long this thread is, but perhaps a hundred pages back people figured out that it's a sound clip from the game 'Evil Geniuses' - I believe it was talking about someone plotting/wanting to become an "Evil Genius".
