I can't believe this still is needed but religious and gun control side discussions will be met with harsh penalties from page 52 and onwards.

Look at his posts in the comments. It's pretty sick. From reading the forum via Google translate, his posts aren't anything sicker than you'd expect from any random nerd with a somewhat conservative and islamophobic bent. I hear more venal right-wing and quasi-racist opinions every day from Scandinavians in Starcraft 2-related IRC channels. Judging by the Facebook page, this Breivik guy would fit right in this community. I don't suppose we'll get many calls to kick nationalists and anti-multiculturalists and conservatives and white blonde people out of Norway, or any diatribes against conservatism, that 'so-called ideology of peace' now that we know what the murderer/terrorist/lunatic really believes in. Double standards ahoy!

Got back from a friend from Utøya and he is safe, fortunatly. Great to hear you got your friend back, and I do agree that it's for the best that he's norwegian. I don't want retaliation lynch mobs (some of which were already brewing before they caught him). It's a sad story, but at least there are some bright points. Also, for those of you who thinks the prime minister is doing a good job, and for those of you that do not, consider this: His kids were on that island, and he himself was going to speak there tomorrow. He's also been to that arrangement every year since the 70s. Personally, I think he's doing a tremendous job at the moment, even though I don't necessarily agree with his politics. Let's hope nothing changes, or that we at least get something positive out of this instead of fear. That's truly the only way we can win against terrorism.

You guys are like pro networking detectives, the amount of research the 300 posters have done on this topic is crazy, and it's building up to be a FAR more intriguing event than all the other mass murderings I've ever heard of. Having said that, I think its the first time I've ever truely felt sad and sorry for all the families in such a story, I'm usually very detached, but this affected me quite a lot. All my thoughts go out to the ones in pain, both physically and emotionally.

Double standards ahoy! That's the scary part, for me at least. From what we know of this guy so far, he loves his movies, his music, his TV-shows, his games, uni educated and politically disenfranchised (for different reasons, but still). All those things could be said about me. I have to say I have some issues with digging into his personal life tho, and not because of his privacy (which I dont give a shit about). This guy obviously knows how the world works, and set up FB/Twitter, you name it, for 'us' (the news consumers) to enjoy. Part of me feels we should just ignore it all, declare him a psycho and forget his name right here and now. Mourn the dead, ignore the perpetrator.

The kid doesn't look very reassured though. Just a pic though, might be bullshit written on it, and me seeing things. But nonetheless, even if it is a real policeman or not, a situation like that most assuredly happened during the hour he was one the island. ![]()

He uses big words and a civil tone to engage in a discussion about how the so-called "conservatives" in modern politics really aren't that conservative. To see him discuss politics in such a calm manner, using smilies and appearing as a decent person makes quite an impression on me, to be honest. Can a person who acts as sane as he does, really do what he did today? I'm not really judging what he's saying (as I'm not able to analyse any of the political talk), but how he's saying it Yes, he certainly knows his way around with words. Basically he is unsatisfied with the current political debate, and predicts a shift in the debate towards what he calls cultural conservatism, as an opposition to the current dominating trend of (pro) multicultural parties. It might also seem like he sees the current political reign of multiculturalism as a stage in Karl Marx ideal of a unified nation of workers, indifferent of ethinicity and nationality, and speaks vaguely condescending of this.
