I can't believe this still is needed but religious and gun control side discussions will be met with harsh penalties from page 52 and onwards. |

What's the difference between bombing innocent civilians in Libya and Afghanistan and a bomb going off in Oslo? Nothing. The intended target. There is a difference between terrorism and casualty of war. That's just a difference of perception/semantics you mean.
In all wars its mostly the civilians who die.

Helpers of Global Jihad was just mentioned on national Norwegian TV.

There is a difference, if there is a bomb in an arabic country with 1-4 kills and a shooting in the same country at the same time with 1-5 kills there is no news about .it, but if it happens in norway it does, anyways im sorry for the ppl that may lost their family or friends, same as i would be if this happent in a diff part of the planet.

They wont attack Denmark, cos Danes are currently waiting for an opportunity to deport several/all foreigners. Lots of hatred going on towards foreigners, and they hate us.

Why haven't any news helicopters flown over the island yet?
Or why haven't they sent a military helicopter there and sniped the bastard who is shooting these young people?
This is so frustrating :/ My childhoos friend lives 2 houses away from the bombed building, she is all alone and scared Her family is going to drive to norway to pick her up and take her home I think :/
Can they send some sort of boats to pick up the people swimming? Like the Coast guard or something?
Props to the police though, who give all the info they have. Also nice to see that their priorities are to help people, not one person so far has talked about revenge and so on. Very calming.

it was probably an attack on the PM, but the shooter wouldn't be able to escape from the island, maybe that's why he's going on a shooting rampage. The planning of this scares me, he planned to be on the island w the PM so it would be hard to reach....

What you are trying to discuss is not the topic. This topic is the terrorist attack in Norway. You are trying to bring up stuff which is not that. Sure, you think its related, but related does not mean exactly the same thing. Even if we were to accept your definition of "related", which many of us do not, it remains off-topic. If you want to vocalize how you feel about the two subjects, blog it. It is plain and simply not the intended topic of this thread and will cause disorganization.

I'm getting the same weird, surreal feeling I got when I saw WTC fall live on CNN ten years ago

appearantly, he wasn't supposed to be there until tomorrow, but Gro Harlem Bruntland, an ex prime minster, was to appear there

I thought I'd go ahead and translate some of these tweets and reports etc from the Utøya incident-
- Vi er under angrep, sa en person som VG Nett kontaktet før han la på og brøt samtalen - We are under attack, said a person who contacted VG Net(newspapers website), before he hanged up the phone.
- Vi satt og snakket om bomben som smalt i Oslo nettopp, så hører jeg masse skyting. Folk er skutt, hulker han frem. - we were sitting around talking about the bomb who just exploded in oslo, and then i heard lots of shots fired, people are shot, he cries
- Vedkommende legitimerte seg som politimann da han skulle fraktes ut til øya. Han opplyste at det dreide seg om en rutinesjekk i forbindelse med terrorangrepet i Oslo, forteller øyenvitnet til VG Nett. - she shooter said he was a policemen when he was to be brought out to the island. He said it was about a routine check in connection with the terror attack in Oslo, told by a witness-
«Det er skyting på Utøya. IKKE ring noen der. De gjemmer seg i busk og kratt. Politiet er på vei,» skriver en person på Facebook. there is shots going off at Utøya, DO NOT call anyone there, They are hiding in bushes etc, the police are on their way. ( written by someone on facebook)

Eye witnesses claim that the shooter on Utøya has killed at least 5 people with a glock, and terror police is on the way to the island with vests and rifles.

There are reports of Anti-Terror Police forces getting flown out there / have been flown out there with choppers now.

Reports now that a group called "Helpers of the global jihad" has said on a jihadist forum that this is just a sample of what is too come. Apparently this is retaliation for muhammed cartoons and Afghanistan involvement. No confirmation that this group are the ones responsible, though. EDIT: About shooting on Utøya: at least 5 people shot. Terrorsquad on their way over too the island.

i think news helicoperts would not be allowed to fly over the island yet.
Sniping someone from a helicoper or from the ground with many people around isn't that easy...
