I was just curious about all of your guys opinions here on blogging, be it reading or creating your own!
I myself have created a few blogs - Car Insurance Blog - Car Insurance Blog Dating scenario / tips blog - Dating Scenario / Tips Blog antidepressants blog - antidepressants blog
It got me thinking - Do people really read blogs? What blog are most popular? Would it be worth creating a SC2 blog?
What do you guys think?

Blogs can be nice ways to vent and share information... just realize that you can be held legally accountable for what you write! For example, if you're going to be a teacher (at least, here in America), it's probably best to just... not have a blog. lol.

Ah so you agree blogs are good given the circumstances are fitting? I suppose that makes sense . Being accountable for what you write, as you said, is of extreme important.
Do you ever read any blogs?

I only read informative blog, never personnal blog.
It must be quite hard to keep updating a informative blog, depending of the subjet, there can be new stuff every day (think engadget) and if you aren't up to date, no one will bother reading your blog.

Ah so basically if you're looking around for information, a blog is a place you would actually think inside of your mind as a place to look?
I typically use the google search engine to answer questions but then it just takes you to 'yahoo' questions mostly, so it makes perfect sense to check blogs, since it's people, asking the same questions.
Thanks for the post!

I very rarely visit blogs and if I do it's mainly the informative ones.
I have nothing against the concept of blogging, but the average quality of blogs makes me want to vomit.
You should have a permit to blog and this should not be provided to 13 year old kids.
I'm kidding, but you get the point.
[EDIT] : I don't want you to take this against you, because I didn't even check your blogs :p [EDIT2] : I forgot artists's blogs. This are usually very good.

I usually don't read personal blogs, because I often go on websites to do factual research (and blogs tend to be less trustworthy or well-documented than other, more respectable sites). If I'm looking for opinions, I'll talk to my friends.

Ah ok, well my blogs are purely informative, The only way I would create personal blogs was if I already had a fan base interested in me to begin with, else it would be pointless. Informative blogs can be great to post though :D.
Good job you didn't read my blogs, wouldn't be too helpful for you unless you're having trouble with partners, you want to learn about car insurance or you are or know someone who is depressed, lmao .

I read a lot of anime/manga blogs which can be divided into episodic blogs (summarizing/opiniating individual episodes), analytical blogs (yeah anime can be analyzed, what about it?), news blogs, some art blogs (pretty pixiv pictures) and a few straggler music blogs. Of course, a lot of them combine these. Most importantly tho is that these people are all passionate about the medium and that's what makes it fun.

The only kind of personnal blog I am interesting in are traveler blog going somewhere I am interested. Those kind of blog only last a few weeks and it give me idea for my travel and for nostalgia.

Blogs are interesting precisely because they are a personalized account of a particular theme. I presume people get some sort of entertainment value out of the blog, whether it be especially polarizing, insightful, or stimulating.

I completely understand where you're coming from but going fishing through millions of blogs, all these different people making personalised accounts about their lives, what they're doing, what has happend to them etc
How do you find, the right one that you enjoy? I guess searching through high-rated blogs would be a good start.
I'm just really curious about blogging and the capabilities it has.

Kindof like a portfolio, a diary of the accomplishments you have made (or written atleast). I just want to try and make this blogging thing work but I do not know a great deal about it.

I've worked for about four or five years as a writer, but since going back to college to do some postgraduate study I haven't really been able to keep writing professionally. The constant study doesn't really leave me with the kind of time I need to write anymore.
I keep a blog just so that I can keep in practice, continue to work with language and try to keep improving. Someone once told me that, when it comes to skills, you're always either improving or getting worse. It's stuck with me since I was ten or so, and writing is the one skill I really appreciate.
On TL, I blog usually to make people laugh, other than that I sometimes ask for writing advice here. People are helpful and often provide insight I'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

Science informational blogs are great because you can get sourced intelligent breakdowns of current events/articles ( unlike most science journalism nowadays). Music blogs are also in incredibly great for getting free music and suggestions not available anywhere else.
