I gg about 50% of the time. I'm rather easily pissed off about performing badly or losing to some bullshit i absolutely should not lose to. (Canon rushes, early roach pushes, defending a 4gate then managing to lose the pvp etc)
I GG if i felt i played pretty well, and still got beaten, so my opponent clearly played better. I gg if we had a friendly conversation up ahead, meaning I know the guy is a nice person, who deserve a gg :p
I do not gg when people do agressive gg's or say something rude in general.
Master league if that matters

Also, I've been getting more "#*&@^ you"s whenever I start the game with gl hf. ... don't know what to say about that.
Oh, and getting told to get AIDS and die is a more common occurrence as well. :/
Well, this is sad. How come people got like this? Unbelievable. I never had this. Oh boy.. In which league is this? Can people start writing down in which league they are?

Ladder is full of bm people, who response "f*ck you" on your GL HF. I almost never GG there. Of course always gg in games with friends/tournaments.

pretty much gg all the time. win/lose with class.

I am curious here. I have played multiple ladder games and much more custom games in season 2. And I think that only 40% of my wins the opponent types gg. It is not that it bothers me a great deal, but it leaves a bad taste after a game. I also add that I rarely cheese, only ZvP on 2 maps.
I guess my biggest problem is that a game mentally ends for me when the opponent types gg. I completely relax and I am happy, when they just leave it doesn't feel the same. I don't know, it is probably overreacting on my part. But I don't see myself leaving without typing gg, unless I react extremely bad against a cheese and am extremely mad on myself for playing bad, which makes me leave Bnet and turn of my computer.
Let’s be honest here and try to estimate how much you type gg after you lost. Give me a percentage with some additional information.
Is everybody experiencing the same? I am currently around world rank 6000 in masters and without kidding a maximum of 40% type gg before they leave.
Simple observation: why should one type "GG" when they found the game bad? I blatently type "BG" when I played horribly.

I'm a very nice loser when I've been genuinely beaten. I usually strike up a conversation and ask what I did wrong etc etc. Of course I end it with a gg.
But when I lose to stupid abusive builds I bm the whole time. Mass air (banshees or void rays) is especially infuriating, because if they catch you unprepared they get infinity kills.

Honestly, I've gg'd every game I've lost except one. Against a guy named IKILLU, after I typed "glhf" he responded "fuck u," and he went hellion/marauder into cloaked banshee and won. I decided to leave that one without a gg.
But I have noticed the gg frequency going down. On the one hand, I would think people like to imitate what they see the players do in tournaments, where the loser gg'ing is standard. Then again, people would probably rather imitate the winner than the loser.
Partially I think it's the mindset that the laddering puts you in. The mass gaming just to be able to spend your bonus pool or whatever. And the fact that there are a lot of new players, who either don't know or understand why gg'ing is even done, or don't really care.
edit: also relevant, I almost never get a gg back when I do gg upon losing. I don't know if I leave too fast, but I don't think that's the case. I think gg is just fading out of use.

why say gg when I can accuse people of cheating instead? xD

Battle.net is so nonpersonal you might as well be playing against bots. I don't feel the need to gg and I don't blame my opponent for not doing it. Perhaps because the battle.net laddering system leaves you free to play games against essentially anonymous people is all the more reason to say just a few words at the start and end of the game, to help combat this very feeling. It's to say that if others don't say anything, you won't say anything, since someone has to start, right?
I dislike it when people don't 'gg', as for me it cheapens the victory as I have to assume they ragequit because they played badly or something, which means my victory is something meaningless.

Well, you starting a post with "Theres not rule that you have to, get over it" kinda makes one think so...

Maybe they don't gg because to them, it wasn't a good game? More importantly, does it even matter?
|
When I say GG I actually mean it. Almost no one means it when they say it. It's like people don't even realize it means "Good Game". So what's the point of saying gg just because people say gg? there's no reason unless you acually respect his game and think it was good. If I lose a macro game I will most likely give my opponnent a golden star, aka GG (unless he went for VR/colo TT). But if I get 4 gated and lose ofc I'm not gonna give the douche a gg.
|
Yup definitely noticed it. Seems like such a shame because on sc1, people are so mannered. ><"
I guess there's no point to typing gg but it's nice to be friendly and mannered.
|
I forgot to say it once out of ~9 losses yesterday The people I win against don't GG very often, though
|
I don't gg on ladder.
Tournaments and LANS are another thing though. Why do people get so butt hurt when you don't GG on ladder?
|
I don't say GG if it wasn't a good game, plain and simple. Why be well mannered when you've got someone cheesing you? I think FU is a more appropriate response.
|
I gg 90% of my games
most of my opponent just leave, resulting around only 30% of the players GG. From what i see, players from SEA tends to type gg more often after the games end. Well, the sample size is small so... yeah haha

just dont worry too much about it. Some people just don't like to GG. Nothing else to it.
|
Depends if it was a good game or if my opppnent deserves it
|
I Say GG in every single game I play, even if the opponent cheeses me
