Which upsets me, because throwing the quality of the sport and your self-respect for some money really deserves severe punishment IMO.
I applaud kespa for holding a high moral standard.

I totally agree with that. kespa needs to take decisive actions if they wish to keep the competition as clean as possible. I know we all love Savior and his amazing plays (I know I do) but what needs to be done need to be done and this is what kespa did. No favoritism of any sort allowed, and I like that and that's what I call justice.

Pete Rose, one of the best baseball players ever, has many hitting records and is not in the Hall of Fame, and is banished from the game. Marion Jones had to return her 5 Olympic medals, during the 2000 Olympics, where she dominated, with an official statement saying "Marion Jones will be remembered as one of the biggest frauds in sporting history."

Sometimes it is taken seriously.

Let him come back, I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson by now.

Personally I find hacking much worse. Betting on games and losing on purpose has little to do with starcraft, it's just illegal activity regardless of the setting. It has no effect on the legitimacy of tournament results and only negatively affects the person throwing the games. The money and legal ramifications is a separate issue from starcraft imo. It doesn't invalidate all of Savior's achievements in any way.

Even if he has "learned his lesson" what he did did not just tarnish his name and legacy, but he tarnished the whole SC1 Progamer scene.
If he has truly learned his lesson, he would know that he does more good for the SC1 scene by not coming back..then by coming back.

Savior was the reason I got into Starcraft. His games still inspire awe every time I watch them. He is the reason I play Zerg. He is why I'm a CJ Entus fan. Having said that, he should never be allowed to return. It's not about whether or not he learned his lesson, it's about all the hard work and dedication of numerous people that he put at risk.

I'm not sure why you're saying this. When competitors bet on their own sport, it fixes games. There's economic studies that show this. If you throw a game, how does that not effect the legitimacy of the result? By definition, doesn't it? The person throws the game, because he's given an incentive to throw the game, so how does it affect him negatively.

This sounds like you're saying up is down, and black is white.

This would be pretty awesome tbh. It's a new battlefield, a new game for him to try playing. Let him be watched, make sure that he does not attempt to fix games, monitor his progress, etc. But sometimes I think people deserve a second chance, especially legends.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Even if Savior DOES get around to play SC2, he won't be allowed to participate in the GSL or any related tournaments.

I don't think Savior would be all that good even if he did start playing again. Something died in the guy when he lost to Bisu. Lost his touch. I'm pretty sure he'd be just another par Zerg Korean.

What a shame, though. He could have been remembered forever as the most skilled tactician of all time, but out of greed he took the legacy of the biggest cheat.

Well, Saviour did the unthinkable. Having flaws as a human is understandable as we are not perfect either. But desecrating the very sports he is practicing requires to never let him compete again. Even if he is Saviour. I for my part don't want to see his games again.
You don't choose to play zerg. The zerg choose you.

I wish he'd be able to come back. It's not like he killed anyone or rigged the finals from what I can remember.. It was just stupid team scrub games. It doesn't make it OK still but a lifetime ban seems a bit harsh I feel.
