We have been hearing many arguments from both sides regarding GOM's decision to hire kellymilkies as a Code A caster.
GOM announced that Kellymilkies will rotate with a duo cast of Kelly and Artosis or Kelly and Tasteless for the Code A matches.
Pros Female Starcraft player Has casting experience A fresh face New perspective
Cons Game knowledge is lacking Hard to understand Lacks chemistry Unprofessional
After all the back and forth between the two groups, it seems we are sending a mixed message to GOM. Even their announcement seemed confused and scattered. Here's a poll to show GOM where the community stands regarding GOM choosing kellymilkies as a Code A caster.

I understand that Kelly isn't the best commentator and personally I don't think shes the best choice but this just seems mean-spirited. Shouldn't we at least give her a shot?
I don't like my commentators being females. I feel that esports is mainly a man sport so it seems wrong to have a female caster.
Also, it is harder for me to take a woman seriously, if she is talking about video games. I could see her in a supporting role for a male caster, though, but being in charge is a no-no.

She twittered that she was chosen as a Code A caster before GOM made the official announcement. There were other instances that people pointed out in the other threads.
Aren't they better just keeping the Stemkoski girl as the commentator? She has full knowledge of the game and superb analytical ability compared to this new caster. Doesn't Kellymilkies have problems articulating certain lines? If she's being hired to make it a 3 person job, it might be interesting... The two girls who cast for Code S segment along with Kellymilkies?

No they didn't.
And I think there's been enough Kelly bashing for the past few days, even though I'm not a fan of her myself.
There should really be a middle option for those who just want to wait and find out. I'll even give her the first week without criticism till she adjusts a bit. I'm not confident enough to vote yes or no either way so I have to abstain.

These are the arguments that the pro side have been making. I am just listing the main arguments for and against kellymilkies being a Code A caster. I am not passing judgement on the pros nor the cons, just summarizing what others are saying.
Maybe the guy in the original post likes looking at / listening to girls. It's pretty subjective though. I voted yes because it's nice to have a new face casting the games.

Female is kind of negated for me, that kind of thing shouldn't really matter lol. You would assume any caster would play sc2 so that they know whats actually going on. A fresh face and new perspective could be said about any other person that were to be hired.
The only thing that I see as a pro for her on that list is that she's had 4-5 years casting experience according to what GOM posted.

It could show that maybe it isn't the stereotypical, only guys play and like video games argument? Allowing more girls who play video games not to feel so overwhelmed thinking that no other girls play. Obviously FragDolls has been helping out, but more girls who have knowledge of the game able to cast would eventually break the stigma that most guys have for girl gamers these days.
Mostly No I'll re-post my opinion(from the other thread) on the matter:
This decision by Gom somewhat disappoints me.
For those crying "racism!" I seriously couldn't care less about the accent. I just expect a GSL caster to have more knowledge about SC2, I'd be just as disappointed if someone like Husky or TotalBiscuit was casting (I do not mean to bash, they are not necessarily bad casters I just feel like a major tournament like the GSL should have very high quality casting).
To be honest i almost feel like (if possible) major tournament casting should be reserved for former and current pro's as well as people who have really proven that they understand sc2. I mean it's obvious that not everyone can be Artosis or Day9, but poor quality casting is not going to help Starcraft 2 grow as an e-sport.
I'll give this a chance though, I sincerely hope I am not disappointed.
I think there's been enough speculation already. If you want to discuss the merits of her casting, please reserve judgment until after the first Code A cast or use one of the many existing threads.
