It's like walking by a store and getting free samples just because you can. And I hate it.
We're glorified trolls, to a degree. But, there are those of us that genuinely want to be part of the greater TL and Starcraft community, and this is our foot in the door.

Maybe an adjustment to some streaming qualifications are in order? It does seem like there are an awful lot of streams that are simply here on a purely self promotional basis.
Looking back to the days of being amazed by any BW streamer. The awe of actually watching the screen of a person playing at the levels they were gave me a lot of motivation. Now for the most part I see any streamer savvy player feeling the need to be watched by the masses generally play no better than I can. There's not that same flashy flair to watching somebody who's noticeably good (for the most part, there are some damn good streamers/players out there)
I dunno but it seemed like a year or so ago, streaming your games to the community was a privilege on this site, not something along the lines of registering an account and making a post

What is your suggestion then, for the people who actually want to contribute with streams and help improving the community?
You're the boss, but it's dissapointing to be declined after how many posts you've made.

I don't have a suggestion, but I've added over 1000 streams and there's 36 online right now with the majority having less than 20 viewers.
I didn't say I'm not going to add you, so patch that bleeding heart.

It's like walking by a store and getting free samples just because you can. And I hate it. Why not institute a minimum post count? Seems like even just 100 would cut down on this greatly; the last several pages have seemed almost exclusively people with under 10 posts.

hmm, reading some of these posts make me worry. I do think there should be a better application form to fill out if you want to be a streamer etc. But that said having a minimum post count would cause havoc, there will be spam EVERYWHERE with people trying to up their count to 100 or something. Imagine 30-40 people wanting to get their post count to 100 after registering 3 days ago...300-400 spam posts with things like "lol", "rofl" and so forth.
Im thinking that it should be questions eg: Why do you want to be listed How many times a week/hours a week do you stream etc
Personally, ive been trying to stream for th past 8-10 months and recently upgraded my bandwidth so i am able to stream, and stable stream at that. Now that i can stream, and am really digging down into laddering on SC2, i thought it be cool to stream my games for entertainment...and hardly educational reasons. Just bad timing to sign up to be a streamer i guess lol

I approve of this idea.
I was actually wondering if it'd be wise to move from Livestream to Ustream....any suggestions?
