they are pretty 1 dimensional, yes, but I still like them and don't find them boring
to each their own taste

Protoss aren't boring at all. Warpgate and Force Field alone make them more interesting than "make roaches and attack move" or "make marauders, or any other combination of units, and attack move".

waaat p is such a fun race, wat other race can worker rush?

that being said pvp is kinda boring because the mu is so 1 dimentional, blizz needs to think of a way of integrating dts back into pvp without messing up the balance in other mus

I don't understand what is so 1 dimensional about: immortal, colossus, HT, blink stalker, heavy gateway builds, having proxy pylons/warp prisms to do proxy warp-ins, DT, void ray, phoenix, the hilariousness of sentries. There's just a huge number of paths you can choose to go as Protoss. A lot of maps even allow fast expands to be reasonably safe.

youve got tons:
snipe, siege, concussive shells, viking transformation, emp, nukes, yamato, jetpacks etc.


Snipe: rarely used, ghosts are only really good in tvp and using energy on anything except EMP is usually stupid

I wouldn't say P micro is anymore difficult than T micro. I'd even argue the opposite.

Infact, P micro is mostly 1a ffffffffff except for like.. making sure your immos target armored units. With T you carefully have to position each unit group to be effective.

If you're bored don't play. I don't know why you're playing if you're not having fun. No race is one-dimensional, and you never have to pigeon-hold to a single strategy and composition. Waste of time discussing it.

Lol, don't stay in your base for 10 minutes massing up an army then. Any race can be fun if you never stop doing something...

If you start winning with terran and zerg even though you've been playing toss all the time, I think you're style of play is more suited to other races than protoss.

Non-robo techs needs a lot of work to be viable paths.

most pvp's only revolve around robo play or 4g/3g b.os, its impossible to dt because if u do and if it gets blocked(which it does 99% of the time, the only way dt rushs work is if u get lucky and ur oppo doesnt robo or if he robos late, this statement alone shows theres a flaw with the unit because in a game ur never supposed to rely on what your opponent does) your automaticly fucked because theres nothing to transition into, in sc1 pvp there were alot of follow ups u could do, players wouldnt necessarily dt to kill their opponents, if u did it was a plus but even if ur build was perfectly countered by your opponent it still wouldnt put you in such a huge disadvantage

in sc2 its impossible to follow up a dt rush without dying, if u go for a macro build ud end up getting overrun because u wouldnt have enought time to temp tech and the other alternative would be to allin(3g stalker blink/4g mass zeal + charge etc.)

its impossible to have an advantage after dt rushing.. p already has an ob out so he can see w/e transition u decide to do, ur basically dead because EVERY follow up to a dt rush is so easy to counter, i challenge anyone to come up with a perfect macro build that u can transition into after dt rushing (assuming your dt rush was blocked) that is safe vs every b.o

well like you said you played 100s maybe you just got bored of the same shit just go random or try something else doesnt have to be league matches and i find zerg boring just because i find their missing a unit ( btw the ultra doesnt exist for me it sucks to much and i have never used it in a league match) but i feel like zerg is missing something maybe something tier 2.5 idk sc1 felt right even though it was just ling muta hydra and lurker but i feel like their something missing ( lurkers sucked.. they were chessy) but maybe it will come in one of the expansions and i will be fufilled.... or maybe its just because hydras were so easy to get before now you have to wait for pool gas lair hydra which takes a while before it was pool 25 gas hydra plus they were 1 supply so easy to mass

I dont think that protoss is boring...

ive done my first steps in sc2 with protoss and ended up pretty much 4 gate or robo all inning. I switched to zerg, because i really thaught for a while that this were the actual style of playing protoss and it seemed boring to me.

But after i gained a certain amount of skill and was matched against better protoss oponents with my zerg, i got used to many variable protoss strategys...
Also, the pro scene arround the sc2 protoss evolved and showed many fancy ways to play with protoss...

So i decided to go back to them to test out some more stuff and there is plenty of variations to play with protoss...
just get some inspiration out there and try something new ... and dont throw ideas away only because it doesnt work on the first time.

I haven't tested this much, but I always win with dts, even vs robo builds. Their damage is so incredibly high, they're worth having in your army no matter at what point in the game it is.
The only problem is forcefields. Good usage of that will hurt dts a lot.

DT rush quite nicely counters 4gate.

If your dt rush fails, you can still use the dts for harassing here and there for the rest of the game.

Snipe would be fun because its so low energy but does no damage it has good uses but you requir 2-3 shots to kill something usefull and that equals 75 energy/ cloak which could have been used on emp 45 damage sucks maybe something like 90-120?
