Why does war have to be one of the prime motivators to advance science? A lot is very wrong with that.

I'm sure people who invent great scientific stuff like this has watched sci-fi movies and so on. Some of the ideas must surely come from movies and games.

Because war leads to neccesity, and neccesity is the greatest motivational in the entire world. War is good, and abortion is eco friendly because humans are awesome like that.

They put a dye in the wound, and the laser heats the dye faster than the surrounding tissue, even passing through the tissue somewhat. By putting the dye on the bits you want to stick together, you can basically melt/cook the surfaces of the cut tissue back together. Now instead of a gaping wound, you've got a thin, deep burn. You still have to clean the wound and push stuff against each other that needs to connect together. This is just a replacement for stitches.

All of these give me a bad feeling for the future, because isolated and not abused they are nice, but added together they pretty much end up as RoboCop or The Matrix as worst case scenarios. I intend not to be around when humanity screws up that big; luckily the required energy would probably make them more or less impractical right now now.
