These are like my 6th or 7th beta keys and I have no one to give them out to. Since it's too easy to just give em out, I figure I'll make it a bit of a riddle.
The keys come in an alphanumeric sequence of 6-4-6-4-6
So I have swapped some of these 6 digit sequences with others and the same with the 4 digit ones. I'm not really sure what all the possibilities are but if you can figure out one, you've got them both.
Also, just to make it a bit trickier, I have changed the first Letter in each code to +12 the letter that it originally was in the alphabet. So if A = 1, then +12 would = M

I've got a couple of hints if this proves to be too hard.
Btw, please post that you figured it out and/or how you figured it out if you solve it.

I changed 2 letters only. And only the first one in the original sequence
#1 hint:
some of the sequences are swapped within the same key.

grrr 1440 possibilities . . . (6 choose 3 * 4 choose 2) I will continue to copy paste my answers produced through prolog.
Blizzard signs me out every so often for trying so many keys (up to 50 now...)

I'd rather shoot myself than try to solve this riddle, thanks.
+ Show Spoiler +lol jk. I'm just too lazy, busy, and/or dumb to figure it out atm.

That's not even a hint... It's saying
"Some of the sequences are swapped with other keys"
Which we knew from the start...

wtf nal rawr? re read the op

This isn't even a riddle... It's like a wild goose chase with copy and pasting every single possibility. Are you trying to stage a hidden DDoS attack on the bnet homepage? If not, more clues please

Almost all guys who replied from US and Canada!? You guys can preorder and get Beta key.. I dont have that chance..No preorders here.. Its too damn hard!

This is ridiculous lol. There are soo many possibilities. In order to be doable one has to make assumptions and hope they are right, and even then it would take a considerable amount of time and might just prove that your assumptions were wrong >.>

1440? there should only be like 12 possibilties lol

please give us another hint before I go to bed =p

none of these worked?
edit: this is for the 2nd code

saltywet, that's what I thought at first too, but realize that he switched some of the sequences ACROSS the keys, not just within the keys!
So yes, that is over a thousand possibilities.

So we have to guess which of the second key sequences you changed the first letter of?
and then we have to mix and match the sequences from the first and second keys in a 6-4-6-4-6 order and hope to get it right?

I've tried 240 of the 1440 possibilities... no luck

It is 6-4-6-4-6 There are 6 versions of the 6, and 4 versions of the 4. So, one must choose 3 from the 6 and 2 from the 4. Then they must arrange them in every possible order. So 6C3 * 4C2 * 3! * 2! if my math is correct. 20*6*6*2 =1440
EDIT: At first I used a silly online calculator that allowed repetition, so my number was higher.
|
now only that, but you have to guess which is the "first letter" he shifted this varies the possibilities SO MUCH
|
It would be hilarious if actually the key you made to hide the original key would work, haha. :-) Good luck and have fun ridd'ling people.

Pretty sure the 1440 is right, though saying it's 6c3*4c2 is wrong.
You have three slots, 6 choices -> 6*5*4 You have two slots, 4 choices -> 4*3 Total = 6*5*4*4*3 = 1440
edit: numlock ninja'd me by fixing his math

actually, it's 43200 different possibilities from the info he's given us thus far, you forgot to take into account that we don't know which 2 of the 6 six-letter sequences he changed the first letter in, so you have to multiply by another (6C2), and that gives 43200 i think =p

Gonna close this before Blizz starts banning accounts for trying too many keys.
