Too bad the stream died so many times today, but whatever, I'm sure they'll fix it by the second broadcast. Imo nobody played spectacular today, but I think Oysetein needs to win his next match because I think JF will win in the Loser's match. Xiaozi should make it out of his group imo, and if Idra plays safer he should make it too.
i wont be making it out of the group i emailed them a week ago that xiaozi has horrible lag, with me at least (and with a bunch of other people, though he claims he doesnt). they chose to do nothing about it, so ive withdrawn from the league.
WTH you didn't withdraw. you played and lost. why ur lying so obviously?
You forfeited 2nd game but you were down 0-1 already, so don't make it sound like you never played him....
dont talk out of your ass its best of 1s, there is no 2nd game to be played i never said i didnt play vs xiaozi

Sorry I wasn't thinking when I read that. I thought it was a Bo1.
I wonder if "everyone" in cj knows about the general bm that idra seems to possess. I understand results are really in the end what matters and people have personalities, progamers are just kids. Clearly there's positive in Idra's abilities I'm sure but I wondering if anyone in cj would shun upon what transpired regardless of how miniskule this tournment is compared to proleague or what not.

ok i agree, i didn't follow the event so much, i thought it was bo3 Round robin. My fault, but that it was just bo1 makes it even worse imho. And Idra, i also never said you said you didn't play it. But you made it sound that way. you emailed BEFORE the game that there is lag and they did nothing about it so you have withdrawn. Thats definately "They didn't decide about the lag problems BEFORE the game so i've withdrawn BEFORE the game"

Well, its not badmanner to boycot a tournement, but I think what some people react to is the fact that you played a game first (lost) and then withdrew. Your statement would have had much more force if you had withdrawn before the game.
Anyways, from one thing to another, loving the fact that you are still in Korea, and that you are performing well, when is the next chance you get to enter a league/play televisioned match, is it osl qualifiers, or will the ESCW be aired somewhat in Korea?

Anyway, no sence to discuss with any further.
I don't think anyone else in this thread thinks that Idra is trying to say he withdrew before his game with Xiaozi, only you think that.
The tournament isn't being badly run. It might be badly broadcasted, and badly attended, but we're doing everything we can to get people to show up. As IdrA stated, we kept sending emails; what more can we do? Show up at the players houses with torches and pitchforks and demand they play or we'll slay them? We have times, we have site representitives show up, and so on.
The format was a mistake and will not be repeated - it was OSL style. You need to lose twice to be eliminated from the group stage, so it's not like you're one and done like NCAA Basketball.
Future iterations of this will be a more generic, normal format.
Speaking of which, people have also complained about normal, generic formats as well, by the way, which is why we did it the OSL way. You can't have it both ways, people - either it's a normal, generic format that people find easier to follow, or it's something that's hard to follow and a bit more confusing.
This was the first attempt at a decent sized tournament, and I've spoken to staff about "following advice" and "learning from mistakes", so we'll be taking that into account.

Player no-shows do suck, and often there's nothing you can do about it. But my biggest question is why isn't Klazart, Diggity, Cholera, etc doing full 2 or 3 commentator per game on this league the day after at the latest? Isn't SC2GG's commentating its biggest strength and draw to viewers? It makes no sense why you wouldn't have all of these guys commentating every game. You guys are known for your commentating. This would be like Samsung sponsoring WCG then having all the monitors be Sony. I'm sure the fans and community want to hear them, and there's no bigger or more important event for SC2GG.
Get them to do it!
edit: Also, wouldn't it be easier to just use one of your existing director accounts on youtube so you don't have to upload the vids in parts?

There was an open call for the casters to come out for the event. Cholera, Diggity and Klazart were unable to do it, or did not reply. We do have others lined up, but we had some difficulties in the timing of the first weekend, however the solo's should be a thing of the past (this coming weekend should be Rise and moletrap).
Eric who does the streaming and encoding for us works for eSTV, so that's why they were on that account, but I personally don't have control of the VioleTAK account (the only one that any SC2GG members control that you don't have to split the videos as far as I know). So the best we'd get is just moving them to the SC2GG account at this point (which would still be in parts).
This weekend will be a broadcast of the best games of Weeks 2 and 3. Not sure how many we'll do yet, but as many as the casters allow.
Oh and IdrA, I told you: I wasn't compromising the groups, done by ladder seeding, because you wanted perfect playing conditions. I don't control the internet.
