Records are not everything, JangBi has a terrible overall winning percentage in PvP but he will slam everyone except bisu

I worked it out for the MSL semifinals. JangBi's PvP % if you dismiss all games against Bisu is 83% since last summer. His problem is he keeps getting so far in leagues that he comes up against top players in bo5s. If he was slightly more mediocre then he'd avoid so many 0-3s.

yeah I know, but if you are not following the scene closely and judge players only by overall winning percentage you will see jangbi's 50%ish stats in PvP and say "the guy sucks in this MU". Its was the same case with Hiya, I think he was one of the better TvTers for the entire season and taking into consideration his poor overall tvt record is pretty meaning less. Players improve constantly, for example just now it became obvious that Bisu is the best pvper, thou that was clear fact for the last 14 months (75% winning percentage, better than everything BeSt or Stork have for sucha long period of time)

Jaedong was so happy when he saw Hiya had the great lead.
Poor Jaedong.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

LOL I just realized there was no bet on this match!?!? WTF!? -.-

Oh sweet, cause I totally would have voted for Oz. Whew.

Oh man that sucks, I would have voted for CJ. And in 23 place, that would have been a lot of points (especially since its likely a lot of people above me would have gone with Oz)!

So sad, there will be no more Winner's league for quite some time. If Kespa's smart they should bring this format back. Maybe they can go with traditional proleague format in 1,2 and 5th round, and make 3rd and 4th rounds Winner's format. So much more exciting. They said TV rating went up considerably as well during this round.

Yeah what exactly happens to all the regular PL matches of this season played before WL? Are we going back to regular PL and having a regular PL final?

Damn! I knew with the number of pages on this thread that Jaedong didn't all-kill. I can't wait to see these games anyhow.

If TV rating went up, its most likely they will continue with it.

That's why ELO ranking's are good for this type of thing, because they take into account who the losses are against and update very quickly.
Jangbi is the 2nd best PvPer according to the rankings, whilst Hiya is just dreadful in TvT rankings even lower than SkyHigh.

For that reason I don't think it's fair to compare the situation with Jangbi and the situation with Hiya.
Hiya IS bad at TvT.

WL was the 3rd round of the 08-09 season. I don't think any further change will/can be made for the remainder of the 08-09 season. 4th and 5th rounds will be played in proleague format (best of 5) and there will be 6 team playoff (with top two teams getting a bye) at the end to decide overall champion of this season. But I'm hopeful Kespa will expand WL for the 09-10 season which will start at the end of this year.

QFT. Like, holy cow I know there were a lot of predictions flying around, but how did you see this one coming?
