the format was pre-determined before the injury even happened, the same situation happened before in the MSL and they had a similar wildcard tourney. it's the best for OGN (more broadcast games) and fairer to the players (you have to play your way in, instead of just luckbox a group with an injured player like firefist would've done if he got auto-in).

bisu absolutely deserved it, he won the games

GO HOT BIRD.

He deserved it in the sense that he was the better player and played well.
He didn't deserve it because he of his recent arrogance-his series vs by.hero, his MSL group selection, and interviews.

Arrogance, the MSL group selection, and interviews, don't have anything to do with how much someone deserves a spot in the OSL or not.

Bring arrogant and mindlessly dropping 2 sets to a complete unknown, and not receiving any consequences, that's how the people that say Bisu doesn't deserve a spot see it.

It's a rather trivial argument, any reasonable opinion is correct.

I don't see how he didn't receive any consequences for those losses, though. Hes completely out of the MSL for his bad play. That's a consequence. In the OSL, he had to play basically three Bo3s, all in the same night, against lots of different players and races. If he hadn't played like crap vs by.hero, he wouldn't have had to do that, so that is another consequence of his bad play.

I can see an argument that nobody deserved the spot -- they all lost, they should all be eliminated. If BackHo hadn't suffered an injury, Bisu and the rest would not be given a second chance in the tournament.

But BackHo is injured, so the question is more which is worse:
* having the 12 group runners-up compete for his spot, or
* giving BackHo's opponent a free pass to the Ro8

I think avoiding the free pass while it's still feasible is the better choice. The torunament is better off having the top 16 available players compete than it is having the top 15 compete with one lucky player needing to win just one set to get into Ro4 (free pass to next season's OSL) and just two sets to be all the way to the finals. The free win greatly increases the chance that some one-matchup wonder lucks his way into the finals and gets destroyed in an anticlimactic finish.

On the other hand, it would have taken too long to have over 100 players competing for BackHo's spot in the GOM, so they had to just let JangBi take the free win.

Quoted for truth.

Predictable, but unwanted results. Congratulations to Bisu, I may have not wanted him to win: but there is no point in arguing about him in particular deserving the spot or not.

...

More upset about the 3/6 I got from this.

Wow I can't believe anyone could hate a pro-gamer THIS much.

Get over it, holy shit. I may have pro-gamers that I dislike but I don't PMS and rant all over the place just because they boot out players I like.

Shit, anti-fanboys are worse than fanboys.

People are just upset because that Bisu is now back in the OSL.

They favourite player's chances of winning the OSL went from 1% to 0%.

seriously, stop bitching about Bisu, he won his games, sure he might have been a bit less manered in interviews then other players lately, but its just his damm way of doing them. And dont talk about him like some random guy who offended everyone before games, acted like cock and then luckily qualified.
Once again, fully deserved spot in OSL.

honestly, does anyone remember how "confident" Savior was during his prime? I really don't remember this much complaining about his comments as much as with Bisu now.

It's because Bisu plays Protoss. It's okay if a Terran player like FBH is a douche or if Savior is arrogant, but god forbid someone who plays the "easy race" be allowed to win games and have confidence for it.
