Well, I suppose they are a bit put off because his statements might sound cocky. However, they have to at least be impressed with his results in this tournament as well as the recent Courage tournament. I didn't see Nony having much of a chance in either tournament, but still he almost won courage, which is wildly impressive, and he won two matches in this tournament, which shows that he's a player of a high calibre. I did expect White-Ra to be able to compete, but not Nony. From the sound of the comments in the PGL topics on here, many Chinese didn't expect Nony to win a single match either. He's doing great, and the developments of this tournament have certainly brought some excitement. I wouldn't count anyone out.

Even though it adds excitement, it's still a bit sad to see the Korean players lose to foreigners. It kind of punctures the myth that even Korean amateurs are light-years away from the level of the foreigners. It's not so much that I'm rooting for the Koreans, it's just that I'm hoping for as high level of Starcraft as possible, just like Brazilians do great in football. And in that sense it's great that some Korean amateurs are just amazing to watch, better than the top players that we normally see in action. So, in that sense I'm a bit dissapointed, these players looked set to dominate more than the Koreans who played last season. It was amazing to see Calm own it up at IEST as he was a good deal less known at that point.

I wonder though if going to korea and practicing there sets your skill back abit the first weeks or so.. maybe they try to learn new hotkeypatterns, strats and playstyle etc..

Im not saying this coz i though nony performed badly or anything like that though...
losing a few games u should have won and winning a few games you should have lost is the harsh reality of starcraft.
