Reading through this topic...some people with a colored name could cut back on the name calling a bit.

(at least Etter is not staff anymore, you sir are just a hater).

You know forum examples are set by people with powers... (and vets to a lesser degree) hell, it's you who keep whining about that all the time anyway. Then try to show how it's done, maybe.
Complete the cycle!

i still love pvp because it often comes down to pure mechanics battle of macro/micro/reaction/etc

I love PvP because no other Protoss matchup has so much metagame in it. It's all about what your opponent knows about what you're doing it and how they'll counter it and how you'll counter their counter. What you can get away with. Where you can cut corners and power your economy. How you can exploit threat to manipulate your opponent.
The mechanics side is what I suck at which is why I lose PvT.

Odd that we have such different ideas about the matchup lol.

pvp is the most micro intensive matchup, as well as the combination/balance of units. of course strategy is heavily involved too but a lot of progamers say they like pvp because they know they will most likely win if they're better.

And I love showing mechanical tosses the power of the metagame. :D
pm me when you're around, I'll reply when I can play and hopefully if we keep doing it for long enough we'll find a time.

thanks for posting those insights kwark, my knowledge is pretty shallow so it's nice having someone commentate on the 'game within the game'.

If jangbi had had a pylon or two in his choke and a shield battery to cover for his lack of shuttle, it seems to me he would've been much better off. If he was truly trying to play safe he would've thought of this. So it doesn't seem to me like that was what he was trying to do, or at least he did a fairly poor job of it.

But the proxy on byzantanium, i don't know why he did that.

Congrats to Bisu, it was a quick (too quick) series and Bisu was right about being able to come back from a game 1 loss.

I think JangBi's expo in game 4 was an improvisation caused by the pressure of being 1-2 down in his very first finals and desperate for any kind of build order advantage. You're right that in a properly prepared build he would have used pylons to improve his defence and I'm sure that he knows that.

JangBi's build wasn't that risky, he had a shuttle coming, 2 reavers out and 3 gateways down compared to Bisu's 2 gateway, no exp and 1 reaver in shuttle. Had Bisu hesitated for a few seconds that would have been enough to win it for JangBi.

Early expansions are easily punished in pvp, it's standard play to do exactly what you need to to punish it.

You can't expand early in pvp, just deadly.

you can expand early.. bisu did in second game and won.. so you really didn't have to look back that far jesus,,
And all is illuminated.

I think it is the hype thread curse!!!

Nada and FBH lost their MSL matches because they had hype threads, now, JangBi had his. Bisu fans knew better that's why no one posted a hype thread for him! Go go Bisu!!

Yeah, but he did it on Destination with its easy to defend chokes, as opposed to Medusa with a wide, wide open front.
