I do believe mass lurker/speedlings, even more so with the help of a few upgrades, can perfectly handle a midgame, non-fully upgraded Terran army, and you're WAY better off doing that and going hive later off 4+ bases, than teching right away when your opponent has an expo and is massing tons of shit.
